India team in Australia already exceeded our expectations in LoIs !!!

Chasing seems to be difficult in this series....

Australia lost twice chasing and so is India......

2-1 ODI loss to Australia is not as bad as you may think...

ODIs  1 - 2

T20s  1 - 0

Played 4 won 2 Lost 2.

If we win this T20 series , i don't mind offering lifelong supply of dhoklas to @sandeep

I'll  take 2 plates idli sambhar from Ram Ashray Restaurant Matunga Bombay.  I only tolerate Dhoklas when my mom makes them.

So now that they won T20 series, this would be a meaningless bilateral series.

They are still meaningless 3 match bilaterals, same as the ODI series which we lost. Let them win World T20 and then we can talk.

I agree but world was coming to an end after odi seies loss for many ICFers.

I think it was more to do with same frailties repeated, that irked fans more than losses.

while we were missing Rohit and Bumrah, Aussies played without 5/6 regular choice players. Frankly we shouldnt get overwhelmed with this series victory.

Shami, Jadeja, arguably Bhuvneshwar... So that's four/five regular choice players

Do you think any of those frailties have been solved. I don't think India has firepower to consistently score or chase these high totals. I don't think there is enough batting talent in system either.

It is there. They need to be given chances at right numbers. But for that status quo has to be disrupted & captain/selectors have to show faith in some players with potential.

Enough of Dhawan at top

SKY has to be part of LOI set up

Same with Pant/Kishan/Gill.

Pandey is a very good cricketer but obviously he is never good enough to make first XI, so no point wasting a spot on him in the squad.

Mind you these guys won't deliver over night but the entrenched culture of "cautious start & then we will see" might become thing of the past.

We most likely will never develop an England type of batting unit. Instead of looking for batsmen, we should look for better bowlers. The kulcha partnership peak was our best period in LOIs in recent times. It has likely run its course and may never reach those heights, but the strategy is still sound and most suited for us.

We has this sort of line up and approach with sehwag at the top and dhoni, yuvraj and raina in middle-lower order. We can get back to that but the conservative approach in lois is due to team management strategy. I have seen bangar saying the batsmen were told to play cautiously and in hindsight it makes sense.

Jadeja batted in first t20.. shami, I wonder if he is a permanent guy in T20s.. Bhuvi is anyways injured most of the time :giggle:

For Aussies, Finch,Warner,Starc,Cummins are regulars
