Gollum Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 (edited) Real question is do we really need a spinner in the D/N test? Saw the scorecards of previous D/N tests in Aus and 2 things stand out.. - Starc is the main danger, phenomenal record with the pink ball. In general the weakest quick in their attack but with pink ball towers over Cummins, Hazlewood, Pattinson. - Spinners mostly rendered useless, all visiting spinners have been weak links in their bowling attacks and Lyon except a couple of cheap 4fers (after match done and dusted) hasn't exactly been a major factor. Sure Adelaide is his favorite hunting ground and he worked as a groundsman there before, maybe Aus persist with him for that reason. An attack of Starc/Cummins/Hazlewood/Pattinson will scare me more in those conditions, no breathing space. Should we take the punt and go with 4 quicks? Vihari can fill in with 10-15 overs per innings. At least with Jaddu, we had his improved batting and electric fielding to make up for lacklustre bowling. I don't think the present version of Ashwin adds that much value to the XI. He can be the workhorse in super flat MCG and an attacking option in SCG. Horse for courses right? Our top young talented batsmen could not survive in natural day light. These batsmen are the next in line for their test team and a couple will probably play in the test series too. Harris, Burns and Maddinson have played more than 50 tests between them. Plus they are playing in their own country. Mosher, Suhaan, nevada and 2 others 5

Lots of energy too. 4 catches today by Pant. Very under-rated keeper against pace bowling. Playing him as the keeper batsman is a no brainer for me in tests in SENA. Would agree with this approach unless the pitch had no Grass. But do you think this TM has that much imagination to take the attacking option?

Burns is a regular test opener, opened throughout last home season for aussies and he got out on second ball

Batting with a pink ball in the post-supper session has been relatively the easiest. First two sessions have been the toughest. Look at how he's twisted the obvious facts for his propaganda (all part of Kohli PR) raki05 1
vishalvirsingh Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Hats off to Shammi Saini BOOM BOOM Siraj. got the Australian 11 on the knees, out of which at least 2 to 3 players may be in the Test 11. Our bowlers did not push themselves very hard , had they did , we could have got them under 80 too. I will not be surprised if we win the test series 3-2, though it is being too optimistic. Among pacers it seems all the 5 are looking good. saini siraj umesh are also looking pretty good. Shammi and bumrah are not at their very best and i hope that in tests they will come back to full pace. we also did not bat well and biggest surprise was bumrah scoring 55 and siraj scoring 22. Starc is the main danger for indian batsman and Pujara is the key as he has the capability to blunt the new ball. Mayank should open with Gill or Prithvi. i am quite sure that they would come with 4 fast bowlers and India should also pick up 4 best pacers out of 5. Unless ashwin is genuinely turning the ball and is showing some promise. i beleive australia will create a fast track as they still believe that they can bat better against fast bowlers. express bowling 1
