Being world number 1 in tests is far greater than winning a tournament like WC unless ofcourse you are a casual fan.

As for Greenidge-Haynes, the par scores were much lower + tons of games in red ball cricket so again great performance for their time!

A bit of swing and seam or even a hint of spin and they'll be dead ducks but they dont need to worry for that coz 80 percent of the pitches are flat nowadays .

Gone are the days of reverse swing,grip and turn with the old ball .

The bigger difference will be in their strike rates compared to the rest. Expect Roy-Bairstow to be ahead by a distance in that.

High time all these partnership stats should start factoring in the run rate as well.

 

I mean a 100 run partnership has a greater value if it comes at a faster rate say at like 70-80 balls as compared to one that takes 120 balls.
