Stan AF
Woke up at 03:30 during school to watch this and wasn't disappointed. That the TM took 5 years to realize his potential is a crying shame. Number, sorak and raki05 1 2 Link to comment

R!TTER
He would avg 60-70 today & strike above 100+ easily! The fakers & posers have nothing on him, especially this guy saik, sarchasm, rollingstoned and 4 others 1 3 3 Link to comment
rageaddict
Such an innings would be considered " Legendary " even by today's standards. BCCI really wasted the starting 5-6 years of Sachin. It's only during the 1996 WC when Sachin got the ideal opportunity to fulfill his potential and never looked back. Ganguly joined SRT at the Top and from 96-99 Indian openers displayed the most entertaining form of Odi Cricket. It's a shame that a batsman like SRT had to wait around 70-80 matches to register his first Odi Ton, while in today's era for example Halwas like Imam Ul Haq have 7 Centuries in just 40 Odis. ShoonyaSifar
Distinct memories. Was a Sunday morning. Star Sports was showing the series live. Sachin got out at around 7-7.30 in the morning and we were in our cricket ground by 8 (instead of normal 6.30-7). That daynonwards, so many of us kids got liberated from the tyranny of being forced to study despite our first love being cricket (sports in general). Thank you Sachin Edited March 27, 2021 by ShoonyaSifar Stan AF 1 Link to comment
Lone Wolf
Lol & we had to witness Dhawan with his ultra slow reflexes trying to muscle the ball down the track only to be cramped for Room with such flat decks better bats & ultra fast outfileds they can never match the dynamism of SRT in prime. raki05, Cricspin, nitinbwj and 4 others 2 5 Link to comment

Ganguly was dropped after one match for 4 years while they kept on playing Sastry and Manjrekar. Tendulkar's opening was also a last min change, otherwise he was typically playing 3 down. The current TM has definitely taken it a step ahead. A guy like Tendulkar won't even get chance under current TM . They will prefer to keep Pant in the bench and Shaw out of squad while playing Dhawan as an opener. AuxiliA, nitinbwj, raki05 and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment

But his sr was better than any player durin his time. His SR was freaking 90 around after playing for so long and facing so many varieties of bowlers. Also till 2000 most of the ODIs were also played with single red balls only in Sena it was with white ball. Clarke 1 Link to comment
