What made RCB click this season?

I think for the first time their bowling clicks as a unit

Harsha 4 matches 12 wickets  9.66 avge 7.25 ER

Siraj     4 matches   5 wickets  18.20 avge 6.06 ER

Sundar  4 matches 3 wickets 28.33 avge 7.70 ER

and Jamison is not utterly terrible. Infact Chahal was the worst. Still they managed click.

Is it a case of them not playing at the Chinnaswamy stadium where after one bad game Kohli would change things around.

They can play Zampa for Chahal. Much better t20 spinner.

Always liked Zampa.. he is under-rated as a t20 bowler

But they should then drop Kane Richardson for an Indian bowler? Maybe Saini?

Bowling and no Chinaswamy also. On Chinaswamy wicket, the genius of AB and Kohli gets neutralised by the other power hitters because of small ground and belter wickets. Other teams are also able to dominate more at their home conditions.

This time neutral wickets for everyone so RCB having a great chance. Maxwell making it count big too.

Yup. Richardson can be dropped, infact RCB was playing with 3 foreign players till this match. Zampa can be picked for Chahal and a batsman should replace Richardson, may be Patidar or Azharuddin. Playing both Chahal, Zampa make their tail very long and they dont need 3 spinners with Sundar there. Even Shahbaaz can bowl.

If MI was 4-0 --> Chaila, apun sab ko haraa ke fir se champion banega. Beshak.

If DC was 4-0 --> BC, Dilliwaalon da jawaab nahin.

RCB 4-0.  Banglorean goes:  Yeno noDi nimmanthah doDDaur aashirvaada ... oota maadtheera?  Banni nam maneg hogoNa. ("Oh it's nothing ... just the blessing of big people like you ... hey, will you have dinner?  Please come to our house!").   It's the Kannadiga hospitality.

But of course, their kaptaan makes up for it with his antics.

  • When u have a good indian core soon it starts to way off, Same happened with Dc. IPL is about good indian core and if they ll be able to retain most they ll be a consistent side in next few yrs
  • Maxwell
  • At chinnaswamy u need outstanding bowlers like Bumrah level which isnt easy to find, so wkts that helped their bowlers in anyway worked

Bowling is much better, get rid of that mental midget Chahal, they are golden

Never ever do that...ever ever

  • Dnt let ur main indian players go unless tehy are awfull, chahal has carried their attack alone. Season after season he is among top wkt takers for them
  • If u read his matchups he has troubled so many batsman
  • Also dnt do such thing that will make opposition team stronger.... KKR let go of SKY and till date they repent it and same was RCB with KL

For next auction they can retain only three:

1. Kohli

2. probably Maxwell if he continues to do well.

3. so the drop AB for Chahal?

With the fat paychecks, Virat & Kohli get, RCB will not have money left for any established player. So I'd see the third and/or fourth player being uncapped, like it happened with Sarfaraz a while back.  If it comes to that, DDP should be retained and once the full purse is available for the auction, there will have to be some desperate bidding and/or RTM to get back the other RCB regulars.

They will never drop Kohli and AB. Chahal v Maxwell. I know Maxwell is doing okay now. But the guy was a bust for years. RCB should take its chances and hold on to Chahal.

We dnt knw the exact rules yet as its not official so lets see. But never ever let a top indian player go unless he has sucked life out of ur team through season after season. Abdv anyways doesnt have much left may be 1-2 but they ll need chahal for how many more yrs he ll play. Im sure they ll push the limit as settled franchises will force them to specially ambani

Also with virat underperforming and abdv, maxwell n other performing virat looks to have taken a back seat. He isnt making this about himself and revolving team around his game .  Stability in coaching staff who has invested in youngsters is always a good thing and stability is very important in such cases. Hiring a team director was a great idea, someone who is seeing things differently from coach n captain . Virat is looking very relaxed as captain this season, obviously team winning is the thing. Panic sets in when team starts to loose.

In t20 one more thing matters is momentum, their team has gotten it. Now challenge is to keep it up whole tournament.
