RCB's  Kane Richardson and Zampa are leaving, too. Obviously Aussie would prefer to be at their home where there is hardly any cases even if they are in Biobubble in India. Epidemiologists are predicting Tsunami of cases by 15th of May so this is not surprising.

Ideally IPL need to be postponed or something, it’s generating -ve publicity now a days & might hamper the brand..

Let's hope the IPL continues even if all these foreign players quit. We can complete the tournament with Indian players or import a few Magalas, Afghans and Zimbabweans who will be happy to play in the premier competition. Let these Soft Aussies and English go back to their safe countries.

Have some shame. These players have not been in their homes since August and decided to come to India despite the record high cases and stayed here for this long. If anything, you should be thankful for them that they came otherwise if they didn't IPL would have been in jeopardy from the start. Talking about IPL with indian players, how many people watch Vijay Hazare or Syed Mushtaq? These Magalas and lallus are known for playing in PSL, Lanka Premier League etc, having them in IPL will dilute the quality

Nah.. Players are already stressed being in a bio bubble away from their families. Right now at least they are somewhat close to them and can leave during emergency.

Good for them, life and health obviously comes first. And their families would be worried too. No point sticking around if they are here to just sit on the bench.

I can understand why they would want leave specially with English and Australian players who earn good amount from their leagues and family members worrying will put pressure on them. It will tricky for New zealand players  although their country is great shape  they don't make great amount money from cricket  and hard for other country players where IPL will be great deal other their income

Do you understand quarantine and testing . You think their country will let them walk in to their homes?

 

Do you realise the players are in the safest bubble in ipl. They are tested every other day inspite of being in a bubble?

Expedite the tournament. I can understand the anxiety players must be facing especially the overseas ones.

 

This tournament is way too long anyway. Either shorten it or play 2 games a day and finish it off.

Its embarrassing that a meaningless IPL tournament is being played in India while the country is literally falling apart and being torn due to covid.

 

What would it take for the IPL to be abandoned in 2021? Its disgraceful that there is literally 1000s of deaths each day due to covid and this IPL continues as if everything is fine.

 

India needs to have some dignity here and recognize the bigger problems in life.

 

Yes I live in Australia and life is great, but we have had lockdown and cricket and football seasons stopped so the country can set its priorities and focus on what is important in life.

 

This IPL tournament is a slap in the face to every Indian family that is suffering due to covid.

I will never forget the dumbest quote on here, when one poster said last year, they dont need to worry about covid because by summer the heat will kill the virus and many posters applauded and agreed with him.
