We have definitely improved a lot in Olympics in last 1-2 decades tbh...we now have medal hopes in wide variety of sports and our Olympics contingent has been increasing with every edition...Shooting has probably been the biggest disappointment. Before start of this Olympics, I remember reading medal expectations for India and expectations were around 8-9 medals with 4 of them coming from Shooting. We ended up with grand zero medals from shooting but still managed 7 medals overall. We definitely have the potential to reach double digits in medal count by 2028 Olympics.

 

One problem for us at Olympics is that we rarely have any participation in sports like Swimming which has almost 40 events (13% of overall events)...it's a sport which is dominated by just few countries like US, Australia. We don't have infrastructure to compete in sports like Swimming...infact very few countries have infrastructure and resources to compete with likes of US, Australia in swimming. China seems to have improved in Swimming recently

Naah Bronze was at 85.44 m. Even number 4 was at 85.30

The usual suspects are using a great achievements to spread hate and fascism. Don't have the brain cells to understand that hate begets hate, their only  contribution in life is to make the entire world a worse hateful place for the next generation.

 

If i have to search twitter i can bring forward a million such loser tweets from all sides, bringing some randos tweet to spread hatred is the worst thing one can do

The real bigots and fascists are the idiots who ironically call themselves liberals but are hating on an Indian athlete winning a gold just because he believes in nationalism and may have a different political leaning to them (as if it is a crime)

You are the one issuing certificates of bigotry and fascism not me.

 

All I see is a bunch of people (not random guys but some with blue ticks, some others who are regular op-ed writers) hating on Neeraj for his ideology on a day of our biggest ever sporting achievement. If it was upto me, I would smack these sourpusses in their face. If that makes me a bigot and a fascist, I'll proudly wear that badge.

top contenders underthrow in qualifiers though. just enough effort to qualify.

Tokyo has higher humidity and is at greater sea elevation than Rio.

Still nobody crossed 88 mts here.

While in Rio 88+ was Silver.

Its the throw in the final that counts he was nowhere not good enough. Conditions play a part like I mentioned **** stuck in the bottom.

Tokyo being at least 4-5 degrees warmer than Rio would have played a part. Plus Rio was mostly rain free, Tokyo has had plenty of rain around.
