It is not conservatism when they have useless players like Pandya who can rarely play more than 10 deliveries to follow. Top order is completely justified in their actions. They are ones who have carried this team for last decade without any help.If others could deliver without them doing anything we would not be having this conservation.

 

We can talk about them being selfish when others do anything of note in chances they have been given. kohli and Sharma would admit they have failed in big spots but they never had any help.
