A game that has the potential to be an edge of the seat thriller. At one corner, we have the dark horses, the AFG Snow Leopards. Diagonally, across them are the favorites to top G2, the PAK Markhors! Both can be extremely dangerous on their day, which is a Friday!

 

It is an evening game, so dew could be a major factor. PAK has won two tosses, so maybe it is time for AFG to win its. AFG's bowling is among the best for the conditions and in dew, the Snow Leopards batsmen can be as good as of most teams. 

 

I will not waste time with stats (unfiltered stats mean zilch) and stuff like matchups (no point w/o knowing how the data is created) as they may not account for much. It is a new day where it depends upon how you turn up. If an off spinner has a great record v a left hander, but if the left hander is playing superbly and/or the off-spinner bowling badly, it accounts for nothing. Which is why captaincy is important in cricket as you have to look at who is bowling and batting well to take those decision. It is good to have a L-R combination if those batsmen are all playing well but you do not promote a slow batsman to maintain that combination in death overs. Give a few more overs to your best in-form strike bowlers in PPs. TM also has to see who is shaping up well even in nets. Unlike India, I expect other subcon teams to be relatively more "street smart". :dontknow:

this youngster Rashid Khan is the only real danger in Afghanistan bowling but guys like Babar , Rizwan, Malik , Fakhar, Hafeez and  Asif are very experienced cricketers and should not have problem in picking his wrong'un. Other spinners are good but not dangerous . AFghans have no Afridi or Rauf. On Paper Pakistan should win without much fuss . But, a defeat against Afghanistan scares Pakistanis more than a defeat against India ( which they were used to until now ) so they will be under lot of pressure . Afghans play fearless and nothing to lose type of cricket which make them dangerous . Eventually, will be a win for Pak , without much fuss.

Pakistan has defeated the two strong teams in their group and has already qualified for the Semi Finals , stop having any false hopes of Pakistan losing to any minnows and then crashing out of the tournament.

They need to reach finals. So does India
