very impressive for a debutant to chase like that under pressure. He's 27 already though, but this could get him a IPL contact.

He is a KPL product just like Nattu/Iyer or Varun are from TNPL

Why have a domestic SMA trophy? IPL selections have done diddly squat since its inception in 2008

SMA trophy is for IPL franchise, a player selection tournament for IPL. If you think a better quality tournament IPL has done diddly squat, what would an interior quality tournament would do.

We should try first before rejecting SMA scouts. They play in SMA due to KPL/TNPL etc. Karnataka is winning with such players with no IPL experience. Cariappa, Abhinav etc. Nattu, VC , Venkatesh came from such leagues, but they get selected for India only by IPL rept
