Ajay Jadeja for the longest time has sounded the most astute tactical reader of the game among Indian ex-cricketers - should he be an addition to the new support staff ?

I have rarely seen his reading of the game err.  I think he would be a good addition to the T20 and ODI team.  Not required for tests.

I think in the few ODIS he captained India, we achieved good success with relatively poor teams ( not verified numbers on cricinfo, just speaking from memory )

Have him on a annual retainer.

By your Logic even Harsha Bhogle Deserves to be in the Indian Support Staff :cantstop:, Ajay Jadeja will take the entire team out for Drinks and Clubbing, there will be more Shamis and Pandya Karke Aayas in the Indian Team. Surely a massive upgrade on Bevda in terms of Astute Drinking & Partying Culture.

While Ajay looks like has decent tactical brain but he too is a big fan of our senior guys..  Thala brigade Kolli brigade..  Something like that.

Only genuine & those who have great idea of modern day cricket among ex Indian players are  Irfan Pathan & Parthiv Patel to an extent.

These guys can nurture & have eye for talent in my opinion.

clearly you watch a different game or have a toddler level logic. Everybody knows that harsha has poor cricketing IQ as it reflects in his commentary.

Do you know him AJ personally to make personal insinuations about his character ?

nothing was proved against him and he overturned the BCCI ban and continued to play domestic cricket ( which would have been disallowed had he been guilty )

he has a family and child and to assume he is the same personality he was 25 years back is plain stupid

I agree. Parthiv is deceptively astute.

We really need some tactically smart contemporary guys to make most of our LOI talent.

DK is good too.

Whatever Makes you Happy!! Jadeja as a Tactician shows your level of logic and understanding of the game. Just becos the guy comes on TV and talks about the game, suddenly he is a great Tactician, Steve Waugh, MSD are no where near any TV commercial tactical panels, Yet, sigh !! nevermind, enjoy your time with this thought.

When you have Steve Waugh’s GOAT team, you don’t need a lot of brains to captain a side

You mean a guy banned for fixing or who acts smarter than he actually is. Thanks but no thanks.

Hey he can get some inside info and make some more money if he is close to the team

Irfan Pathan and Ajit Agarkar are 2 of the better ones.

huh? when has jadeja ever said anything insightful even in the comm box to want to entertain this suggestion? Sivaramakarishnan and M karthik have more interesting things to say and that is something. has he even done any coaching at any level?

He is quite good but again as someone said, he rarely criticises senior players. Heard him fawning over Dhoni and Kohli throughout the IPL..will become another Yes Man
