No. KKR was never winning with that middle order. They were playing with 2.5 batsmen at best.

That was in early October. Effect of toss has now multiplied with the change in weather.

You want to know something funny, it wasnt even the lead headline in the sports news this morning.

 

Probably will be during the day.

 

In Australia, there is sport 24/7, 12 months a year here. Traditionally speaking, AFL, Rugby are the biggest sports and the "only" sports followed in winter, in summer its the cricket, with soccer.

 

There is no excuses in this country to not follow a sport.

 

It may surprise you guys, but from a passion point of view, its AFL and Rugby clearly ahead of any other sports here. Cricket is definitely a third place.

I watch ABC News Australia regularly and I got this idea too. It does come up in the Sports section, but definitely OTT discussion as done in India.

Im only raising it as just how contrasting the way cricket is viewed in both countries. I would honestly say Australia is definitely not passionate about cricket like Indians. However the passion they definitely show is towards AFL and Rugby. This dominates the majority of the sports news and there is definitely OTT discussions about every small detail.

 

Australian cricket in Australia during the summer is followed well, however most people in Australia wouldnt have a clue what the scores are when Australia plays overseas, bar the Ashes in England.

When I used to watch the Australian summer, I always thought it must be a festival of sorts when there is a cricket match. Also having seen Aussie fans when they have visited India during the 2011 CWC.

 

I got a completely different idea when I myself landed abroad. That's when I looked at Australia closely and followed their media. I remember even during the Tokyo Olympic Games, AFL and Rugby were dominating the Sports sections in the media. Got to know that cricket is after all not as seriously followed as it is in SC.

 

However, this passion in India works well for us. Hopefully, we use our fan following to build a fan relationship between these two countries.

Cricket really is only a big sport from December to January.

 

Outside of this its not covered much at all.

 

I actually think this makes it a healthier way.
