Grapevine has it that it was the broadcaster who wanted India's games against NZ and Pak on a weekend, therefore came the week long break. Now, they are paying for it.

No sympathy.

Good. Both BCCI and sponsors should learn the price of supporting 1 or 2 super stars over team. Current strategy is not to hype or support or care for team results. Its to hype up one superstar, give them captaincy and limelight without accountability, show their face on screen and ads 100 times per match

No supporting young players or team results but just using PR to highlight the super stars. Show captain kohlis face and make commentators hype him. Show mentor dhonis face and hype him

This strategy works in IPL as no matter which team wins Star gets money and superstars bring money

But in international if your team gets knocked out, there is no plan B

Glad it backfired, this culture is destroying indian team and results, where captains are such big brands they can fire selectors and over rule coaches.

Yep. Also if some of the high profile games had been later, India would have settled better and done better, you could see the change in last 3 matches. Here by the time they recovered, it was too late

Yup. They are paying for their greed. Now they don't have what they could have otherwise had.

How much milk can an emaciated farmer squeeze out of one tired buffalo.

Gotta love it.  This one rando tonty tonty win is the new "remembaa CT".  Should keep the illiterate awaam happy for another half decade while Imm the dim's Australia-copied 6 team first class cricket structure destroys whats left of Pakistani FC cricket heritage like a termite colony given full access to a wooden birdhouse.

I'm sure the next time India and Pakistan meet, Rohit Sharma is going to score huge.

This time Pakistan was fired up due to NZ and England avoiding to tour their country, next time there won't be such motivation and things will resume to normalcy.

naah those factors are inaccurately hyped up.

In my opinion, the biggest differences that led to the streak being broken is India being even more undercooked early in the tournament than they normally are, due to extended bubble fatigue etc.  Add to that, for the first time in more than a decade, greenbros have half-decent batting in Babar and Rizwan.  And even though the 10 wicket win looks lop sided, if India had put up 175 on the board, the pressure probably would have bought an early wicket or 2, leading to the rest of the team doing their usual 'fighting' failures.

I mean, it is what it is.  T20 is a tight game, always giving the weaker team a strong puncher's chance.  And Indian team performed quite poorly in both the Pak and NZ games.  It happens.  "small margins".

Apart from greenbros finally breaking the psychological barrier, this game isn't worth being read into too much.

Star Sports India should make up some of these losses next year with a 10 team IPL (longer IPL schedule, more games). So they should be okay still.

Yep, they're going to be fine.  Disney is funding them for streaming growth, which they are providing.  Such 'shock' results are not unexpected and factored into the cost of doing business.

Tbh its not that big a "loss" for the corporation.  But hey, let the greenbros soothe their insecurities and try to maximize the importance of a tonty tonty league stage win against the 'enemy'.  On such sad little hype they will seek solace - "our tailunted team with jazbaa junoon dileri delivered tagdaa loss to Endian company"  bajaao tali, eat haleem.

I still don't get how making a semi final is seen as any sort of achievement for India?

Indian team going into any tournament as a fav and anything less than a trophy is usually considered a disappointment.

Afghanistan, bangladesh, Pakistan, Ireland making the semis are usually the upset which makes the tournmament come alive as everyone likes the minnow to reach the higher stage once in a while. And boy do they celebrate!

Good sweet...  Next time schedule India games wisely..  And not on evening always.

Also f*** them for IPL & kudos to janta for low viewership to IPl this year.

Star Sports & its Super V army deserves it.

Bc IPL IPL IPL.. :hysterical:

I can imagine how many sleepless nights paakeez must have gone through thanks to the success and enormity of the IPL while their bhikhari board keeps begging others to tour them. All the frustration has been vented thanks to the fluke win now..
