hmmm  IIRC I've seen a couple of silly statements from him before.  Could be I'm wrong about him.  That's quite an endorsement, from a dude I would take seriously.

Then how can you blame Rahane to not have a fair claim for captaincy? Just put matches with Adghanistan, Scotland, Namibia and SL in batsman friendly conditions to bring both Pujara and Rahane to form and save their spots.

 

Just like Rohit Sharma did after T20 WC or just like his buddy Dhawan does after every failure.

I m not saying Rohit is an ideal captain to lead T20I side. In fact, he should retire from T20Is after 2022 WC in Australia.

Did you see Rohit Sharma's stats in T20Is in the recent past? His career average/SR stand at 33.3 and 140.28 respectively.

He is the MoS in the recently concluded series against NZ (the finalists in the recently concluded T20 WC).

Lets talk about Rahane's stats in test cricket recently or overall? (Again, I am not talking about Rahane the captain but Rahane the batsman which this thread is about).

Quite possible. We have all said things that make no sense. While he does have credibility as a high achieving FC cricketer who came up the hard way, he should not get a free pass on everything he states.

Rohit Sharma, Dhawan are pure Stat padding chumps and people like you fall for it every time.

 

Even in previous 50 overs worldcup, Rohit scored daddy hundreds in zero pressure situations and completely choked under pressure in QF and SF.

 

Then middle order like Hardik, Pant, Dhoni, Jadeja were blamed for not finishing the game.

 

Same now, Pandya is anyway gone from squad, Ishan Kishan will be next and most likely SKY also eventually.

 

They put a different pedastal for Rohit always.

 

I am leaving Kohli out as pre-2018 he was a genuine Beast and played his heart out even in pressure situations. 

 

But sure, Kohli gets blamed a lot more than Rohit.

 

I guess the Mumbai lobby is strong on him and he knows exactly how to save his space on useless bilaterals or against minnows to pad his batting stats.

 

This is how he got into the test team too. Just so happens to manage to play 1 decent innings that is never a match winning innings. But Pant, Shardul, Iyer, Pujara, Gill and Rahane are under the scanner always.

That is complete wrong about Rohit. he was the best batsman in testing conditions in England.Rohit Sharma has been best Indian batsman in all formats for last year. If he did not perform in those so called meaningless matches, India would not have reached semifinals.Dhawan won an ICC tournament by himself.He is one of the best performers in  ICC  tournaments, It is Kohli who has fallen short in in 50 over ICC tournament.

 

The others you mentioned don't even fall in same category as these three.
