What injury?

Raghavendra, popularly known as Raghu is one of the most experienced and the best throwdown expert on the team. He bowled a delivery that strike Rohit’s gloves hard and he was seen in pain. However, after sometimes he was in good spirits and was seen taking selfies with the crowd maintaining the social distancing. Notably, Ajinkya Rahane broke his finger facing Raghu in the nets before the Mumbai Test against England in 2016.

He was beginning to prove himself away from home. This is a big blow to both India and Rohit.

Our best test batsman atm.

Ahhh heck....

I was just getting used to the 50/0, 60/0 and 70/1 scores from the openers. The good ole days of 10/2 , 20/3 will be back now.

We were 60/0 in WTC. We still lost due to bad MO unfortunately

Priyank Panchal is replacement? What happened to Easwaran? Wasn't he with team in England? Also scored vs. SA A.
Heard during England tour, Kohli wasn't impressed with him.

Is it hand or hamstring?

Cricinfo's talking about hammie.

Panchal - I just don't think he's international material tbh.  With Rahul Mayank and Gill available I'd still go for Shaw ahead of Panchal in that list, in that order.

Panchal ahead of Prithvi is a major signal to Shaw - to change his batting method in test cricket and stop thinking of himself as the heir to Veeru regardless of formats.

I don't think its unfair to Shaw, ultimately you have to put consistent, big runs on the board to get selected.  And for all his ability to dominate, he hasn't put up the big runs.

Yeah now all sites have updated this as ham string injury, earlier they were all saying hand injury

Bunch of clowns have selected this Panchal.  Shaw would have been better.  SA grounds are fast scoring especially those highveld venues.  Ball travels.  Shaw would have provided fast starts.

KL

Mayank

Pujara (sadly)

Kohli

Rahane (sadly)

Iyer

Pant

Ashwin

Thakur/Shami

Siraj

Bumrah

I think we need to beef up our batting..  Middle order is non existent.  It's looking bleak suddenly.

Feel Kohli's captaincy record will have a dip now. Rohit won us one test in England and performed in others too, Gill one in Australia, Washington performed in pressure for three matches straight. These three will be missed. Plus I don't expect Bumrah to save us every series and Siraj for the third series in a row.

because we already have a back up opener in attacking types like Gill, Shaw was not chosen. Also he is iffy against seam and swing at start of the innings… panchal is just for show. If push comes to shove TM will shoehorn Vihari or pujara in top 2

This is done on purpose by Rohit to spite Kohli.

Good luck with this much vitriol and politics to Indian cricket.

Ganguly and Shah are proving to be pathetic administrators.

If they cannot control Rohit vs Kohli rivalry very soon, then we are looking at more world cup exits.

Now Rohits underperformance in T20 worldcup also looks suspect. Might have done it on purpose to spite Kohli and get Kohli to lose 50 over captaincy too.

There was no way Kohli could retain ODI captaincy after losing to Pakistan in a WC with 10 wickets. Even Dhoni would have been sacked with such a performance.

I hate Rohit Sharma and his antics as its ruining team India. I guess we can expect Kohli to underperform in ODIs now to spite Rohit.

And stupid fans in this forum cheer for Rohit like he is some genius when he has created a rift in the team that looks like will only end after both rohit and kohli get dropped or retire.

:hatsoff:
