interesting that he mentions 'office bearers' repeatedly.

Mr. Jay Shah: Secretary

Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal: Treasurer

Mr. Mahim Verma : Vice-President

Mr. Jayesh George: Joint Secretary

Like I said his position is untenable. He is compromised in the political war. And I am not even talking internal team politics. It's national politics. He is going to to do more and more damage with time. His hero complex and victim complex will be challenge for team to deal with.

The spate of Congress men that have come in his support adds much more meaning to the stuff he was saying earlier.

His political ideology should not matter but it's been revealing to see not one single cricketer come out in his support, not even those from Delhi. He has alienated every single one of them. A clear indication of how he's used his long captaincy stint only for self-aggrandisement.

You can whine about this all you want but its nothing to do with politics

Your life revolves around your cult party. There is nothing else you have in your life. You cannot even make one single cricket related post without talking about politics

Your political party is life and death for you

But that doesnt mean its true for every other things or person. Most normal sane people dont think only about party and politics in every single thing in their live

Actually it does matter in his case because he is going to voice his views on national discourse and take sides on issues in public as Indian cricket test captain. Of course it's okay if he choses to endorse something privately. For me, his press conference, PR bots and support, and his specific comments on specific subjects, leaves no room for any doubt. Kohli is compromised.

An Indian cricket team captain cannot impose his personal values and politics. He has to be ambassador for Indian cricket team.

Dude doesn't have the dignity to quietly accept his fate. What is this mudslinging going to achieve?

Its dragging BCCI name in mud, ganguly is being attacked. New captain rohit will be attacked by his fans and PR

He is harming indian cricket just for his huge ego. I hope he is removed from all formats soon as this is going to just harm indian cricket the longer he stays

Hasnt dhoni done the same? I didnt hear you whining then?

Every indian captain has done what kohli has done. Social media was way less in dravid etc time else they would have done same.

Face it, if he was openly in suport of bjp you wouldnt talk of compromise or anything else

No one cares how an indian captain uses social media or what cause he supports. You want it to be true as you want him to be punished for his beliefs but thats just being delusional

But its just a pathetic attempt of a politics obsessed man

Actually Gavaskar has, kinda. Kohli's captaincy shelf life has expired a while back and ousting him is fine but if Ganguly didn't tell Kohli to not step down, then it's not cool to claim that he did so. I am not a fan of Kohli the captain but this issue is bigger than him. There is talk that with Shah Junior calling the shots, Ganguly himself is a puppet and that Kohli is being punished for talking on the Shami trolling issue even though he was told not to by the BCCI. RaGa also talked about this issue and it seems the BJP didn't want it to get anymore airtime. TBH, I don't feel good at all about Shah Junior running the show. Bollywood is bashed for nepotism by Bhakts as if it is wrong for any parent to invest their hard earned money for their child in their area of expertise but there is not much debate about the cricket board being taken over like this.

Sourav Ganguly "Should Be Asked About Discrepancy", Says Sunil Gavaskar On Virat Kohli's Captaincy Remark.  Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar feels Sourav Ganguly is the best person to clear the air on Virat Kohli's contradictory statement on the issue of captaincy, saying the BCCI president "surely should be asked" how the difference in perception arose.

Well let’s split facts and conjecture first. Him being ousted as ODI captain is he said she said kind of stuff. I would trust Ganguly. But I am open to change my mind here based on facts coming in.

Fact is Kohli removal was imminent. What he said about Shami wouldn’t matter had he won more ICC trophies including this one. Of course your team captain actively propping tool kit narratives to distract for evidently bad performance doesn’t help. But that’s not why he was ousted. He stepped down.

fact is Kohli has gone to press with it as Indian test cricket captain speaking against his own board. And the same toolkit folks are propping this one up doesn’t augur well. Kohli has to go into dressing room and lead Indian test cricket team. That’s his job. If he feels hard done by, he should take it up privately with BCCI.

Now we might lose an entire generation to useless social media politics. But I don’t want Indian cricket team to get compromised on it yet.

Kohli's time as captain was up 2 years ago, after the WC SF loss. His removal now is totally fine but the manner in which it was handled doesn't feel good. I do agree that he shouldn't have spoken against his own board in public. He better score some big runs now to back up the talk or else he is toast.

Problem is he doesn’t even accept his performance was bad limited overs. He has been terrible for multiple years from 2014. Hopefully BCCI never does one captain for all formats in future. The problem we have now is Kohli is absolute monarch with all the power and he is still clinging on to it. We need separate captains for future.

BCCI should withdraw all the special privileges (resting for one test in a series, reporting late for a te camp etc.). He deserves to be thoroughly shamed for all the dirty politics he's played during his captaincy.

I wouldn't even mind a proper player revolt against him in South Africa. Anything to get this power hungry egomaniac out of captaincy and hopefully very soon from the team.

Doesn't read like Gavaskar is supporting Kohli. OTOH he says even if he was informed minutes before his sacking, that's absolutely fine.

Are you for real?

He just said in his interview that he can understand why he was removed from Odi captaincy.

Him saying that he wasn't asked to reconsider his resignation from t20 captaincy is a fact. Why should he endure all this false news which bcci is spreading.

Should he just let all the rumours float around? Are you serious?

Bcci was lying against a captain, why should he accept those lies.

I am quite sure that you won't be able to counter a single point here logically.

BCCI should kick this clown out of the side.  He is no Sachin that team can't win without him.  We are winning without his contribution for most of the  time in 2-3 years.  Let PR & his fans cry then.   I am afraid he will spoil our chances in SA at making history with his negativity.  BCCI I am sure will strip him off Test captaincy if he loses test series.  F***r should focus on the job he has.

Facts are what are undisputed and can be proven. This was neither. This is his side of the story.

Why did kumble has to endure all the fake news which he spreaded falsely that 9 out of 10 players doesnt like kumble and several leaks at that time. You ripe what you sow. So he should just shut up and accept his fate, he can't do anything.

I think the press conference and following PR machine back up makes total sense now. Kohli knows that he has lost the dressing room. His hommie has also left. There is new management with renewed preference. The grip is slipping fast on test captaincy. Series of PR disaster hasn’t endeared him anymore to Indian fans. This was a last ditch effort. A show of power let’s say. In Delhite terms “backing dekha di”. Making it slightly more difficult for BCCI to do the inevitable.

He has basically sent a message to BCCI. If you mess with me, I will create a lot of negativity for you guys. Interestingly, he is willing to isolate himself in this battle. He has already lost ex cricketers. He will lose his colleagues and any future association with Indian cricket.
