Austin 3:!6 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 We all like to blame Rahane and Pujara and rightly so but somehow king Kohli escapes criticism. His form is equally poor if not worse. But even the journalists dont dare to question the batting form (or lack of it) of Kohli. Both the shots he played to got out on this test match were tailender'isque chasing 5th stump line. Not sure how long public, board or selectors gonna tolerate before asking questions. He is just blocking a place for potential inform younger players like Shreyas Iyer at no.4 raki05, velu, SRT100 and 4 others 1 6
LordPrabhzy Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 The middle order trimurti doesnt deserve to be there- he wants to keep up his brand value with adverts and sponsorships which will only be worth a lot till he is India captain. This is all for his personal gain and not for the best interests of the Indian team. Selfish prick raki05, Norman, nevada and 1 other 4
wanted_desi Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Thats why he keeps Rahane and Pujara around. AuxiliA, velu, Norman and 5 others 1 1 4 2

Chakdephatte Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Dravid is too good to play Chapell here. Difficult to drop him as long as the team is winning.

No one has the guts to drop him but he should proactively sit out on the Bangladesh series. Imagine getting humiliated by Mehidy Hassan and Taskin Ahmed's of the world. We should play a young team for that series: Rohit Mayank KL (c) Gill (vc) Iyer Pant (wk) Jadeja Ashwin Shami Bumrah Siraj Chakdephatte and Cricspin 2

WC2011INDIA Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Rahane scoring more runs than him in test matches is just depressing. Worse, hahane doesn't score much. Austin 3:!6 and raki05 1 1
Something Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Kohli will have a dead cat bounce phase. I've been saying this for couple of years now. At that point, everyone will say "King is back". Almost all "one foot out" players have a series or two of legacy phase. The question is, do you drop him before or after such phase? Does he leave on a good note at that point? Its just silly to let a player add 5-6 years to their career post prime in a country like India. raki05 and Banton 2
Something Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 This whole "captaincy" thing has been given too much importance lately. Focus on the team and they'll win regardless of the Captain. I don't know that consistency and retention of the same captain for many years actually helps the outcome. Is there reasonable data on this? Didn't Hahane as a captain pull a rabbit out of the hat in Australia during a very short stint? If having the same captain for 5-6 years at a time was important, we would have collapsed in Australia but we didn't. It should always be about putting up the best team of players instead of trying to retain an out-of-form captain. nevada, Banton and raki05 3
DeepSpace Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 India's ascendancy in test cricket is mostly through bowling. The batting still sucks. SRT100 1

Adamant Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 If he averages less than 35 in this series then yes his days should be numbered. sage 1

vvvslaxman Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 He had 3 great years. But he should try to understand why he is repeatedly getting out the same way again and again and work on it. He has to do a Tendulkar here. That famous 241 not out where he cut out off side shots. I am not sure if he has enough time to do that in result-oriented Test matches we have these days. May be he should bite the bullet and play some first class cricket and see if he can make a 100 there. raki05 1
