That's one match. And his highest score in 25-30 innings. Only 2nd impactful knock in his career.

And there was no pressure, with all the hard work already done to get the chase under control. When he came in to bat yesterday, his career SR in T20 was around 115, with a grand total of 259 runs in 56 matches spread over a dozen years.

Tbh fish are stupid creatures.

Not everyone is a genius anyways.

The idea is that we messed up royally in promoting Jaddu higher up in 2009 and are still hanging on to that performance as a metric of judgement.

I have similar thoughts on the recent Eng tour where we forced him to #7 and then some were criticizing him for not smashing Anderson & co in Eng. Are bhai your tail starts at #3 and you expect your bowling all rounder to negotiate swing with ease while scoring quick runs ?

Still suffers from taking it deep syndrome + not out syndrome. Just one boundary in 28 balls today.

You have to bowl him length balls at a predictable pace.  Akash chopra showed a video that was analyzing the weakness of Jadeja. KKR did just that. Spinners bowling at the stumps within the stumps in a flattish trajectory. And slower balls.  INto his body. He predictably failed to connect.

Naah this is captaincy syndrome. Everyone goes through that in Indian. Wait for Punjab game and we can have a look at Mayank also.

Nah, it's the heat syndrome. He inevitably fails when the heat is on. Captaincy, scoreboard a mess with expectation of a blitzkrieg - no way Jaddu will deliver in that kind of set up. He thrives only when he is unnoticed and someone at the other end has played a good knock already.

Partially agree. He has performed many times under pressure but I feel captaincy is not good for him.

He has too much on his plate already. Has to bowl full 4 overs, bat in the middle order/finish the innings, carry the expectations of being the best fielder. And now has to captain a big franchise, filling in for someone like Dhoni!

Anyway it was just one bad match, let's see how this goes.

Hes' not a white ball batsman period.  He's quality with the bat in test cricket.  But he cannot, simply cannot handle the scoring rate demands of white ball cricket in ODI, forget T20.  Not at the international level and tbh, not at the iPL level either apart from few handful exceptions.

To be fair he never played up the order in t20 and Odis. Indian top order batsman are so good middle and lower hardly gets any practice. Tests are different he gets chances there. We should judge once he gets chances up the order. He is not the batsman who will not hit from ball one will take time.
