147 should have been in the comfort zone for Rahul/Kohli, they could have hung around & taken their time.

If the braindead management are so in love with the Old Farts and want to play them irrespective of form then at least spread them across the batting order. Having 3 of them hogging the top order is a recipe for disaster as seen in countless failed tournaments. 

 

A morose and tactically vacant coach like Dravid is not exactly helping matters either.

I like that you have used "top 3" as targeting one (or two) player (Rohit or KL or Kohli) is not the solution. The entire set up needs to be changed if India hopes to make an impact in big multiteam tournaments.

Usually, Rohit fans point fingers at KL & Kohli; KL fans at Rohit & Kohli; & Kohli fans (though they don't have much to write about now) at Rohit-KL.

I'd rather go with Pant (open and fail early if he fails or smash the attack to the moon) followed by Sky and Hooda.

Mediocrity in the power-plays isn't going to cut it in ICC events against big names(unless they muck up too).

Even with SKY we were 166 in 19 overs. A freak 4 6s in the 26 run last over bailed us out. If not it would in the mid-170s.

Performing seniors are always okay. In tennis, every player.has to do all the work and there"s no teammates to hide amidst. A senior player like Serena, Venus or Roger can at best grab a wild card to play a tournament if lacking in ranking points. And they do bring in good amount of ticket sales due to their sentimental fan base.

I did not see that explosive finish from Kohli. Until I see that explosive finish, I would not put too much stock on these scores from Kohli.

 

One thing Kohli does better than most batsman, he does not have too many dot balls. Last over dot balls were mainly due to useless Bhuvi being at the other end.He never had power game but he still could score at 140 SR.

Can't we try sky and Pant opening. Then go with fatty at 3. Rahul 4. Phinisherrr coolie at 5 just cause they will have to pick him. And pandya 6.
