KL Rahul’s lack of footwork against quality pace attack was monitored by the eagle-eyed Indian coaching staff during the team’s net session on Monday while an exhausted Hardik Pandya was given a recovery break ahead of the T20 World Cup match against the Netherlands.

Rahul has failed against Pakistan in three of the last four games. Bowlers have decoded that an imaginary fourth off-stump line at a good pace can test him. That’s possibly why Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Harshal Patel were told to bowl outside the off-stump. Rahul wasn’t comfortable on one occasion, having to close the face of his bat. Had it been a match situation, the point fielder would’ve been interested. When Yuzvendra Chahal bowled, Rahul rocked back and pulled against the spin.

If it were the likes of Rabada/Starc, they would've injured him during these intense net sessions and helped India pick a replacement. The harmless Bhuvi and Harshal's iconic slow balls will not test Kela's skill level even if pinpoint yorkers let alone outside off-stump. Now, only hope is Kela injures himself somehow during the morning drills or catching practice.

:facepalm:Even if he has something wrong with his technique, why make it public. And it's T20, why are they judging it like a test?

Do we really need the services of HaPa to overcome mighty Netherlands?

Let him rest it out and save himself for the bigger guns/later rounds.

Why does he earn that privilege while others have to play all matches? Sirf 4 overs se thak jata kya woh?

Unless, by HaPa you mean Harshal Patel  :hysterical: Yes, he should be rested for the entire tournament. Bahut khel chuka hain woh

Besides against every side you should go full strength. You can slip up.

Hardik pandya cramped out against Pakistan and didn’t par take in the practice for the next game. His fitness levels are a concern will he last the whole World Cup how can he play IPL which has very short break between matches but struggles with internationals.

Giving rest won't be a great idea looking at the weather forecast.     Most upcoming  games are going to be washed out as per weather forecast.  Ind will also end up sharing points with Minnows (like Nz and SA did).  So, whatever games we are playing, HP should play and we should aim at maximizing our NRR.
