wanted_desi
My fav tournament. T20 WC, i don't even care who wins or lose. Look at how WI won 2 of those given their condition. coffee_rules 1 Link to comment
maniac
You should have added till the next IPL begins The craze and the whole Thala fever that was there this IPL is unmatched. Even the worldcup was slow till our team started “bulldozing” opponents like Yogiji coffee_rules, Lord and Norman 3 Link to comment
bowl_out
All true, but wonder if there will be the same level of encouragement and excitement had India done poorly. In 2007, when India and Pak crashed out, the excitement went down more than 50% Link to comment
putrevus
Odi is best form of whiteball cricket. It is moronic England who laid down flat tracks to enable their FTBs that killed interest in odis. Glad that their FTBs got found out big time. express bowling and Frustrated 2 Link to comment

Of course, History will be interesting and remembered if it is written by winners. Edited November 16, 2023 by coffee_rules Link to comment

Everyone will accept and move on but ICC cannot be changing formats of world cup willy nilly too. They will still watch world cups. 2007 , India lost to two weaker teams than themselves and looked totally disorganized. That is why people got mad. goose
the relationship between projected scores and wickets left in the shed has changed so markedly since T20 hitting came along, that reading the pitch, and correct par score, has become absolutely vital. this tension between wickets and runs has effectively turned ODIs into mini tests. the greatest format when there is something on the line. the worst format when there is nothing on the line.
