SKY has been the biggest batting failure in our CWC campaign

Everyone , including a post dengue Gill, has stood up and performed when it mattered.

They had the bilateral performances to justify their selection and they have delivered in the World Cup as well.

SKY neither had the numbers in bilaterals not has he had any impact in the World Cup itself.

An absolute failure of a selection and shows why you need to select guys based on some performances in bilaterals at least rather than in whims and fancies.

its not whims and fancies... MI lobby wants to ensure their 'superstar' is in India colours regardless if they are actually good players of the format

Biggest disappointment. He was pretty much a journeyman throughout the tournament and when we needed him at crucial times, he only disappointed. I think he is pretty much done and dusted at the moment. He might still provide some good innings in T20s, but even there, he cannot be relied on in crucial KO games. He doesn't appear to have big match temperament.

Yes ...SKY seems to be made for t20 only...he just cant bat for 10 overs at a stretch..he wants to score those 30-40 runs of 10 to 20 balls.

definitely not worth INDIAN team - rinku singh is ready, hardik should have been playing ahead of SKY and may be Hardik would have made India win today.

I highly doubt SKY will win anything even in T20s. He hasn't shown he has the stomach for a fight. He scores mostly in meaningless bilaterals and has failed almost everytime when it's a pressure situation.

It was comical to see him try to hit the ball behind the wkt keeper. It was so predictable that everyone, including bowler, wkt keeper, fielders, and the spectators knew what was coming. He could've simply waited for the ball and tried to hit it down the ground but all he could think was "behind the wkt keeper". Absolutely zero temperament and match awareness as shown by his running between the wkts. In fact Siraj looked more composed than him as a batsman, and that says it all!

Yeah he hasnt been great but he hardly got chances...plus not his fault he got selected out of the blue.

But didn't you want Sky and Pandya to be number 6 and 7 before the WC?

Im a bit confused.

Thats because we were resigned to the fact that we had to take SKY in the squad

My point was about the combination .

Not the squad.

Anyway team that won the World Cup batted until 7 with batting all-rounders to cover up 5th bowlers quota.

X-factor lol He himself gave the warning that he is learning how to play ODIs. But we frutiessly hoped for a miraculous cameo which never came at all. Ironically he looked worse than Kuldeep yadav in the end overs.

Our entire batting was built on the back on Rohit and Kohli. Games in which Iyer and Rahul performed were bonus.

Our lower order with SKY, Jadeja , Shami at no 6,7,8 was just a disaster in making.

We still might have got away with it and won had Rohit stayed till the 20 overs or had Kohli held up one end till the 40 overs.
