If he survived the impact and was not consumed by fire, it was probably just about finding getting through the wreckage. Of course, lots of fortune involved. community notes on X says he didnt jump - he was removed from the wreckage. still a miracle.

This video seems to suggest that the reason for loss of lift is because the flaps were pointing up (usually it should be down for take off). Watch from 2:50 - 3:40 With sound from external recordings, you cannot certainly be sure that the engines or one engine was working . We can only be sure about it from FDR. Flaps being down during take off is not a compelling evidence to losing flight. It could be a contingency action of the pilot because they though they could couldland it back. I am not an aviation expert .. Maybe @EnterTheVoid can comment. This former pilot talks better about Flaps... Edited June 12, 2025 by coffee_rules

Surely there are systems/alerts that would go off for flap settings deployed (or not deployed at all) not being enough for take off? coffee_rules 1
Number Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 (edited) Such a tragic day. Worst day for Indian aviation in a long long time. Something just so unusual about it. The engines were fine until it climbed 800 fts and then both engines went off. It just can't be true. Something very serious there. Call me anything but this smells of a laser attack from a nearby site on both the engines, as soon as the plane got in their visual range in the air. Laser weapons have usually short range (India has a 5KM range laser weapon) but extremely effective to cause any electrical device failure in a short time. Ranvir Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 Someone sent me videos of the wreckage, it was so graphic. Bodies all over the place completely burnt and unrecognisable, a decapitated head, and the locals just pushing each other out of the way to take a picture or film it on their phones, what morons.

Before every flight standard servicing checklist is followed. Any open issues (every flight has them) is signed off by the pilot and only then plane takes off. Everytime your flight is delayed one of the reasons is pilot has refused to fly till xyz is fixed. engines undergo rigorous testing, including bird test. You will find related videos on youtube. I don't think it's a laser attack but some major error during maintenance. Report will be out in coming weeks we will know then. Lord 1
coffee_rules Posted June 13, 2025 Posted June 13, 2025 The plane has hit 3 buildings , their structure is still intact even after the explosion. Beginning to doubt about the twin towers WTC coming down . 9/11 truthers believe that the towers were brought down by dynamite blasts in the basement of the towers
EnterTheVoid Posted June 13, 2025 Posted June 13, 2025 Mayday call from the pilot about losing thrust. Thrust makes the plane move forward. That forward motion causes air to flow over the wings, which produces the lift necessary for the plane to become airborne.

Some are saying they didn’t gauge amount of fuel weight , had more weight than the plane could handle. Flaps not working being down while take off can cause the thrust to go down (slows the forward motion) . Can’t wrap head around the Wing Flaps logic. Chakkar Kya tha?

Flaps not working being down while take off can cause the thrust to go down (slows the forward motion) . Can’t wrap head around the Wing Flaps logic. Chakkar Kya tha? I'll demystify. The runway is of finite length. On the take off roll, the plane needs to get airborne (wheels leave the ground) and have a positive rate of climb (climbing up). A small 1 seater plane will get airborne at around 50 Knots airspeed. A massive Boeing 787 - 9 fully loaded with fuel on an intercontinental journey may get airborne around 225 Knots airspeed. The heavier the plane is, the faster it needs to go to generate the lift (upwards force) to overcome the weight (downward force due to gravity). The faster you go, the more of the runway you chew up. You may find yourself in a situation where you are running out of runway and you are not airborne yet. You are going too fast to safely abort the take off (you'll overshot and crash into buildings/obstacles). And at the same time, you are not going fast enough to get airborne and climb. Flaps allow you to get airborne at a lower air speed. Meaning, you use less of the runway. But for the flaps to work correctly, they need to be in the correct take off configuration. If they are not, the plane will stall. And when the plane stalls, it falls out of the sky with its nose pointed up. As we are saw in the video.
