In my opinion WTC doesn't bring anything to the table,

It hasn't helped in making tests popular again

Outside Aus-Eng we barely see people coming to grounds to watch 5 days of cricket despite WTC

Plus,in the longer run,it isn't helping develop newcomers vs easy opponents without the fear of loosing crucial points

Pacers suffer the most, top pacers from each side are forced to play or rushed to play causing aggravating their unhealed injuries or relapses

I found pre 2019 tests rather exciting and refreshing

What is your opinion?

Tests don't lend themselves well to this knockout format imo. Reward consistency over a period of time instead like a league.

Stop playing Tests altogether. It's torturous and drains the life out of you if you don't have a good team. Investing emotionally for 5 days is madness.

Well if India was winning this sort of discussion would not be taking place.

Mediocrity of India’s current test line up cannot be masked and swept under the carpet so easily.

Well the fact of the matter is that it’s never going to be removed.

But I agree it makes weaker teams to get worse as it amplifies moronic test selections.

Also it can incentivize pitch doctoring by weaker oppositions.

So unfortunately it’s bad for India.

Disagree. WTC is exposing us so we are complaining. Actually tests have got more meaningful since its introduction.

You can disagree all you want but 2 year cycle with lopsided home/away games, aside from the neutral English venues, has always been total BS. A four year cycle makes "some" sense, the rest is just noise!

I am still not in favour of cancelling WTC...maybe just extend the cycle to 4 years.

Players these days have to pivot quite often, first WTC, then T20 WC and then ODI WC...and all 3 formats require varied skillset.

Instead we should actually FORCE selectors to choose format specialist players. Multi format is a thing of past but sadly our obsolete mentality refuses to let go.

Make selectors watch all the games, figure out the right players and select the team.
