Zaheer Khan keen on Indian bowling coach role

Get him in right now...embarrassing when other teams at some point of time have employed Walsh,Ambrose,Streak,Bond,Gillespee and Alan Donald and we being the richest board get nobodies in that role...hell even Azhar Mahmood for pak looks a better name than some bowling coaches we have employed.

Zak will make a great coach

Interesting.  He definitely has the bowling credentials, but what are his coaching credentials?

as a captain to DD Bowling team ..he was actually coaching DD bowlers..he was tremendous.

he is Exceptional as a bowler and as a Bowling Coach..Most Shrewd bowler and the BEST fast bowling coach on EARTH As on Today.

He has the Skill smartness & knowledge to convert a sheep into a tiger.. i mean it.

I saw him bowling at 133k LIVE in a match and batsman not scoring runs of ZAK and batsman were attacking RP Singh who was actually bowling faster than him. batsman were happy defending ZAK's bowling and were trying to hit RP of each ball....this guy was too SMART and knew how to keep the batsman scared.

he can convert our upcoming pacers into international quality bowlers.

A decision based on lack of options rather than actual coaching & cricketing skills. Indian fast bowlers are so few in numbers so Zaheer was the logical choice.

I am one of the very few individuals on this forum, who is not sure how good Zaheer would be as a bowling coach.

He belonged to a school of pace bowling which believed more in skimming the surface rather than hitting the deck hard.

Modern-day-less-helpful pitches require hitting-the-deck-hard style of bowling on more occasions than not.

I would prefer someone like a Lee or a Bond.

Our current crop of bowlers already have the pace and skills required. What they require now is going to the next level of setting up batsmen and out thinking the batsmen in crunch situations which Zakk possessed in his days. He also knows these bowlers well, so can work on their weaknesses better.
