Have SL improved

There are a million posts on why India failed. But do SL deserve some credit?

After the mauling we gave them in SL, they've gone and beat Pakistan and they've managed to hold us to a 1-0 win in a 3 match series.

There batting has definetly improved, Chandimal finally coming into his own, Angelo batting at 4 is his best position

but having said that 1st game, rain and bad light saved them big time

And even this game a lot of time wasting and bad light helped

But overall improved a lot since last series, they have good bowler in Dilruwan Perera, can see him, Herath and Sandakan wreck havoc to gora teams in SL on turners

Not really ,it just shows Pak is a **** test side,we would have won Kolkata too if not for weather

Today reminded me of Ranchi test, just like Aus that day Lankans showed some spirit ,may be flat wicket but bowling was below average

Bakwaas band kar

Dragging Pak in the thread is irrelevant.

They are better than what their recent results against us show. Bottom line is this Indian team is very strong in these conditions and can make any team look like schoolkids when they are playing their best cricket. Let us see how we fare outside Asia now.

its a team under transition , there is some talent in their batting but will take few years to mature .  The series loss of 0-1 is a great result for them , they have done as well as any other SL teams from the past .

roshin silva if continues to perform as he did today, should help steady their fragile batting lineup. They are generally ok as long as flat conditions but moment conditions get challenging they do struggle a bit. I would recommend country experience to a lot of their players, if they are for the performance of their national side.

first test was no improvment, pitch + last innings delay antics gave them draw by 3 wickets.

last test day 2-3 drama , Kohli emotional declaration ment India had to bat again, with SL wasting time and bad light, it was possible for SL to draw.

Its more Indian teams failure to hold on to catches and stay focused on victory that handed them two draws. They are as bad as in SL where India got full games. pak are a crappier team.

Batting certainly has improved for them.

Karunaratne, Chandimal, Mathews and that annoying Dickwella. They have 4 consistent performers.

Lanka are improving - and our dropped catches in the 1st innings, and dropped intensity on D5 cost us the W.

For all the flak that BCCI got for scheduling this SL visit to India - first one in 8-9 years btw - it was still helpful in terms of preparing for SA.   Ashwin's batting issues are a bit exposed, our slip "catching" is under the scanner, and Shami, Bhuvi and Ishant have made their case.   I'm happy to see Vijay come back  to the team and score runs, he was struggling a bit in Ranji after his injury.

Obviously not as useful as multiple warm-up games in SA, but this series was helpful to Indian test team to a certain extent.
