I live in Oslo (Norway) so I don't speak much English with other Indians but this shows the stereotypically poor English of Indians online...always saying 'sir' lol

Haven't watched it but it sounds distasteful to me. Who cares if they don't speak good English? How much of any of the languages of India does Buttler speak? (Very little apart from phrases his teammates have taught him I woukd imagine) Perhaps Sodhi speaks a little from his parents.

I never understand the logic behind making fun of someone's English, when its not even native language.

Not everybody can be seinfeld man. Getting away with stereotyping. Anyway our own Sunny bhai often tries to imitate Jamaican accent.  But that is different though.  Some school kids from village,  may not be proficient in English. It is not their choice to be poor in English. It is not their native language. So they are going to suck at it.  But even imitation is not that funny. If you really want to watch a joke about our English watch this. Most of those who are not good in English tries to translate their language directly into English.

We need to have a funny bome and sense of humor to laugh at ourselves. If the joke is on you, learn to laugh it off. Because we take it to heart is why one is often continued to make fun of. For example a Kid in school mad at his/her friends calling him something, they will comtinue to tease him/her as they know that it annoys the kid.

But this is anything but funny as all over the world write broken English. Best Example is Trump. you could see like 10 mistakes in one tweet. English is his first language. I don't get sensitive about because he makes fun of me. But i find it remotely funny. The guy in Seinfeld, Russell Peters their accent is actually funny even though they mock us. The choice of words are not generic enough to be funny.

The Indians calling every celeb a sir is one of the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen, it's more of a south Indian thing though, they even call their actors as sir, fking CRINGE, they deserve to be made fun of.

"sir"  have multiple meaning for us ..

for us "sir" = "ji" 

 

when my father use to call me as "vanga sir" ( come here sir ) , i knew i will be in trouble
