To be honest, IPL is not what you decide for your experienced players.  Imagine Australia dropping Finch based on IPL.

Aus have no other choice,we have lots of them , form in T20 is a must

ICF finally realises which some posters including me kept saying Rohit is selfish to play like that at the top. Usually the reply would be he is our best opening ODI batsman and he makes up for his dot balls in later part of his innings. So fans deserve him. Enjoy Rohit's style of batting at the cost of team. :two_thumbs_up:

Some are still saying its cos of his fitness lol

Nothing has changed in his batting for 10 years, he's still the same garbage who was averaging in mid 20s at 70sr in the middle order. Was gifted the opening slot and still batted the same way, except that lower down the order score board pressure would not let him play at his own pace for too long but here he could in the name of "anchoring". The only thing which has changed lately is the pressure he's feeling with the likes of KL, Shaw doing well he knows his place is under threat. The choker that he is making him play shots early in his innings he would never bother.

I think age is catching up with him.

In the past, he could hit sixes to improve his strike rate and make up for the wasted powerplay.

But now he’s getting old and his hitting ability and strength is not the same.

He failed in the IPL as well this season.

And someone was endorsing to make him captain for loi:giggle:

Rohit is a finished entity in T20s, even in IPL he is a liability for Mumbai Indians

Looks unfit and washed up. Had a poor IPL as well. DK should play and we should make best use of him before he is back to his mediocre best.

such words shudnt be used so casually, u can end up looking like a fool

It was already predicted, he is going to get exposed in England and Australia. He will not be opening for India in WC'19 give it or take. His fitness levels are on Yuvi level and he is lazy on top of that.

not as bad as yuvi but yea he is lazy n was before to, i said this 2 yrs back when he started putting on he ll suffer in few yrs......may be its the 1st sign.

Only performance matters, not whether he is washed up. As his performance is sufficiently poor and there are sufficiently good youngsters, Rohit should be thrown out without mercy.

He might make up his strike rate later but what about the batsmen at the other end who are put under pressure due to his slow batting? Is it okay if one or two of them get out trying to up the scoring? Batting "safely" and choking early momentum for personal stats is not the right way in a team game.

He barely does that nowadays. His innings' are causing more harm to Team India instead of our opponents.

I won't call Rohit Sharma a garbage batsman. Just that we knew what he was doing when he was asked to open. It was but obvious such strategy will work for a short time and soon he will become a liability.Problem is management is too dumb too realise Rohit is causing more harm than good. This is the era wherein ODI or t20s  batsmen go bang from the get go or atleast have the ability to do so. Rohit, on the other hand, wastes power play and also put the burden of run rate on his partner since he is given leeway under the name of getting set. He enjoys batting with no responsibility or accountability. And his long innings only come against hapless Lankans, bangladesh or WIndians. And now he has also become a potato.
