Why does Rohit always waste the powerplay?

All other T20 openers such as Roy, Finch, Guptill, Munro, Kusal Perera etc. go hard at the ball in the first 6 overs and try their best to give their team a flyer. 

 

Whereas we have this so called “Hitman” who wastes the first 6 overs almost every game because he “can catch up” later on in the innings. 

 

This is a very negative mindset because most of the time, Rohit will not be able to catch up and make up for the wasted powerplay. So as a result, he ends his innings with a poor strike rate and Team India short of potential runs.

Nearly played out first over the game as maiden. That's 5% of the total balls available for the entire team

Looks unfit and washed up. Had a poor IPL as well. DK should play and we should make best use of him before he is back to his mediocre best.

His fitness is the reason for his trouble. His reflexes look so slow like slow motion.  He won't play for long if he doesn't get fitter.

It was already predicted, he is going to get exposed in England and Australia. He will not be opening for India in WC'19 give it or take. His fitness levels are on Yuvi level and he is lazy on top of that.

Much probably has to do with the tubby he carries around. When you stay unfit, it will surely bite you up your arse at one point or not. if you don't have a fit body, older you get, worst your gameplay will become.

To be honest, IPL is not what you decide for your experienced players.  Imagine Australia dropping Finch based on IPL.
