SK_IH Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 These guys are no second coming of any great cricketers. In our imaginary world, we expect some of these youngsters are going to win Ind the world cup. Surely they should get chances but no free rides. It's time to respect the likes of Rayudu, DK who are performing and still coping it. Ind need performers,no pretenders. P.S. : Fk Dhoni , sack him from LOIs, if @Laaloo questions the Genesis of the thread Laaloo, Vilander, flamy and 5 others 1 7

SUMO Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 If pant and gill fails to meet expectation then no second kohli/sachin/dravid is coming.
speedheat Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Should also add khaleel to list, Horribly overrated trundler. OpeningBatsman, Tendulkar1996, raki05 and 4 others 2 4 1
Khota Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Both are good with bright future but both need to sit out. velu and raki05 2
Forever Indian Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Rahul seems mentally shot. Needs to go back to domestics, play a few matches without pressure and sort his head first. flamy, Switchblade, velu and 2 others 5
Moochad Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 I don't think it is a fair comparison TBH. Rahul is 26, Pant(and Shaw who is next in line) aren't even 22 yet! Rahul is much closer to being a finished product then the two youngsters. Rahul is only called a youngster because he is inexperienced. He can improve if he gets a long run and is restricted from playing all 3 formats until he is settled, but we have possibly seen what his potential is Pant and Shaw have many years more they can develop. Even thier bodies can still fill out more. Expectations for all 3 should be tempered, but Rahul isn't comparable to the other two beetle and Tibarn 1 1
vvvslaxman Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Rahul has some glaring weaknesses. Gill has a much tighter technique and has a solid temperament. He will soon run Rahul into ground. IT all can change. Rahul working hard secretly to iron out his technique, Gill slacking off. But judging by the current standard i think Gill's learning curve won't be as steep as Rahul's.

singhprakash72 Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Pant has talent and aggression to succeed but still need guidance ....his continues to play silly shots at crucial junctures not only in these T20s (which don't matter much) but also in Test specially in last test in Eng when he could well have created history with some sensible stroke play. His keeping still needs to improve but overall if he settles down in next year or so he will be great asset to Indian team in all formats.

He may or may not succeed, but let's be honest he got the opportunities this year and he performed consistently. If he fails, questions will be asked again.
Tendulkar1996 Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Rahul needs a temporary boot, pant just needs time to mature, khaleel needs to be warned and then permanently booted if no result. beetle 1

You are comparing them with Pant who has been in international cricket for 4 months. Rahul will also turn around his form. beetle 1
