What sin has he committed? Ignored for whole of 2017 CT and again being treated unfairly here. Outstanding WC stats, lit 2015 WC on fire, 14 wickets in 4 matches here including a 5fer and a hat-trick. Is he sitting in the sidelines to accommodate a Mcgrath or Ambrose?

 

Gutted for him, can't explain my disappointment, irrespective of whether we win/lose this is a colossal * up. I am done with this TM, selfish, nepotistic, corrupt mofos. Next time some fanboy hypes up Kohli's captaincy....chalo leave it. So so sad.....

On the same ground against WI he got 4/16...simply unplayable that day. Against NZ he won the MOS a few months back, unke ghar mein.

The way Bumrah maintained pressure, Shami would have been in the wickets column, and he wouldn't have wasted a review in desperation.

I would have kept Jaddu and dropped DK for Shami. DK is in the X1 as batting insurance but that is defensive thinking. If you are gonna gamble, bet on a potential match winner, not on a support cast.

The thinking is likely that the Indian batting is good enough to score about 250-280 consistently against anybody. At the same time, they’re pretty much incapable of scoring 300+. 

 

So the Indian team is playing it safe and going with a lineup which is most likely to hold any batting lineup under 300. 

 

Shami may take a bunch of wickets and get a team to score 210 all out instead of 240/7 which we may get with Bhuvi. However, both are scores the Indian batting can win. 

 

On the flip side, poor death bowling can mean that a 290 score under Bhuvi may go up to 315 with Shami. The former may be achieved by the Indian batting. The latter won’t.

It is sad but the simple reason is that he can't bat. This shouldn't matter when you already have Jadeja at 8 instead of useless Kuldeep. You don't need Bhuvi at 9 for batting, it's over kill and defensive silly captain. Dhoni would never do this.

 

Freaking Kuldeep has an FC ton, please tell me the bowlers he faced and team, he can't hold a bat. I want to slap these bowlers.

Seriously feel bad for Shami. He has the near best strike rate for wickets this WC. The defensive mentality of TM is cringeworthy.

Nope Bhuvi is being selected only because of his death bowling, not batting. The only match we lost Shami gave away 44 in 3 overs

It was the wrong decision,i feel kiwis would have been bundled out for 150 with shami.
