Scar Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 (edited) That's India's problem that they are dependent on exterior factors like toss to win them the most important game of the tournament, not the fixtures. If they are true world beater, then they need to step up on one occasion which counts. You get one shot, one opportunity...and most often than not they are crapping their pants on such occasions. But with Kohli at helm even that won't help in 2023. He will play Shardul ahead of Saini and Dhawan will open while Shaw ,Mayank and Gill watching it from home with their parents and family. Also Jadhav will be the 6th batsman. India will lose first match with Jadhav bowling zilch and Shardul doing some misfielding, Kohli will say that he believes in this team and expect them to comeback strongly as that's what they tell themselves all the time - " We are the best, we are the best". Before second match he will drop Shami and get Saini, Iyer will be dropped with Jadhav, Pandya and Jadeja playing at 5,6,7. Kohli will drop KL as well initially but then realizes that Dhawan or Jadhav not ready to keep and they don't take his orders as well as Jadhav really answers to the non playing captain while Dhawan is in his own realm slapping his thighs. So he goes to match referee and says it's a typo, KL should be playing at 4 who was playing at 5 previously. Somehow match referee agrees. During the match Jadhav pulls a hamstring while running and Pandya hit few lusty blows and then took some selfies with jubilant crowd in the background. Jadeja also scored a useful 20 from 24 balls. During fielding Kohli got Manish Pandey to do the fielding for Jadhav who took a brilliant catch but India still loses with Shardul taking 2 wickets in his last over after giving 90 runs in first 9. Kohli comes to the presentation and says that it's just a world cup final which they are really not worried about this year. They are happy and think they are fundamentally strong to win the next world cup in 2027. Tight now he is looking forward to the IPL which is going to have 10 teams after many years. P.S. Imagine a best of 3 FIFA World Cup Finals between Brazil & Germany, sounds rubbish isn't it? Finals means a team has to bring their A game on the table on the given day, match the intensity of the opposition, intensity of crowd, hold their nerves under pressure.
