Serpico Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 (edited) First of all I'm surprised they were able to convince aussie umpires and referee for something like this.. I guess our management does have some quick thinking and persuasion skills Two questions on everyone's mind: 1. Jaddu was allowed to bat after getting hit on helmet yet he needed a concussion sub to bowl? 2. Is Chahal really like for like to Jadeja? Jaddu is much better batsman while chahal is much better bowler.. Edited December 4, 2020 by Serpico
Gollum Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 When in Rome, do as the Romans do. OpeningBatsman, speedheat, AuxiliA and 5 others 1 3 4
sage Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Shrewd move will fire up both camps for the remaining of the series. Langer was fuming
sandeep Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 He was the only available spinner replacement. Who should replace him instead, Mayank Agarwal? I mean, the conspiracy theories and whining from some of the Aussies are making this unexpected win with a sub-par total even sweeter. BacktoCricaddict, Gollum, Vickydev and 5 others 4 4

cowboysfan Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 I would like to believe its not cheating,i have seen enough concussions in other sports to know the symptoms dont usually manifest themselves right away.some symptoms even take days to get overs and i can personally attest to that. Stan AF Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 It is perfectly legal according to the rules. There's nothing to discuss really. Aussie buggers would love to whine all day but they forget that they drew/won the Ashes 2019 because of a concussion sub. beetle and nevada 2
Indwin Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Frankly speaking a poor sportsmanship CommonMan and beetle 2
shychipmunk Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Jadeja also had a hamstring injury and would not have bowled if not for the concussion. Technically, like for like would mean, someone who would not have bowled !

shychipmunk Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Also the concussion ball was not a beamer/bouncer. Jadeja actually topedged it on to the helmet !
ShoonyaSifar Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Part of the rules now. So fair play. It worked for us today. Some other day it will work against us. Hope our TM (and media) remain consistent and do not cry cheating nevada and beetle 2
Majestic Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 It was well under rules. The only question is spirit of the game but then we are in Australia. Also, India didn't have an all-rounder to replace Jadeja so they went with the spinner option.

Sometimes concussions can take upto 24 hours for symptoms. Remember Late Raman Lamba? He walked back to the pavilion on his own after being hit, was talking, then after sometime he fell unconscious and passed away three days later. Even if Jadeja felt it was a minor injury, better not to take any risks. I was shocked to see no doctor attending to him. Silly and thoughtless. beetle and sandeep 1 1

Gollum Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 (edited) Dunno about Aussies but many padosis will be on suicide watch tonight. Prayers for them. They have won one game in Aus against Aus in the last 18 years, we already have won a couple in the last 3 days without playing full strength side. Edited December 4, 2020 by Gollum
Vk1 Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 if we didnt have a like for like replacement then we shouldnt be given a choice to be replaced by a much better specialist.
