Siraj runs a batsmen out with a direct hit aiming at one stump. Something Kohli hasn't been able to do with his amazing ground fielding skills

Even Jadeja barely hits the stumps directly. Rahane also is brilliant when it comes to this stuff.

Don't read too much into these games, just hope no freak injuries or annoying niggles cos of some extra josh/jazba by bowlers or showing off on the field. The #1 objective in any warm-up fixture is ensuring no injury.

Siraj, Shami and Bumrah should start for the Adelaide test. Siraj has been impressive with his lengths. Not very loose as well.

Ideal Xi for Adelaide -

Mayank

Rahul

Pujara

Lolli

Rahane (c)

Vihari

Pant (k)

Jadeja

Shami

Siraj

Bumrah

12th - Ashwin/Gill

Finally Siraj gets some luck going his way. He had Maddison out caught behind not given. Bowled well. It will be a tough choice between him and Umesh. I guess Umesh needs another chance. If he fails, then go with Siraj

We really need a new ball bowler. Umesh is too much like Shami and Bumrah. We failed in NZ because we failed to take wickets with new ball while Boult and Southee ran through us with new ball

If not Saini, give Siraj a go please. For how long do they have to wait for a test debut?

Umesh Yadav averages 46 in Australia and barring his debut your has bowled terribly. He was poor in NZ as well (though a different format add IPL as well). Some wickets today should not see him jump ahead of Saini/Siraj.

I don't want Umesh to play, he has shown no improvement at all. he cannot be depended upon delivering 20 overs in a day. It looks like  Saini and Siraj suffer from same ailments like Yadav, they also leak minimum boundary every over.

I would say Umesh is more like Siraj. Has the ability to swing the new ball at pace but gets the radar wrong and releases pressure. I'm not very hopeful of even winning a test but lets see. Lots of Aussies are predicting a 4-0 whitewash. Hopefully we are not that bad.

Ok, not great but not bad either

I thought he bowled really well, exerted a lot of pressure.  I am less worried about T1 if Jaddu isn't fit.  of course we will miss Jaddu's batting, but Ashwin looked quite good to me.  @nitinbwj

Isn't Ashwin a decent bat in Test matches?

The problem with Ashwin is he has regressed a lot with bat and he is liability on the field. So if he does not take wickets, he does not add anything to the team.He has never done well in Australia , I don't know if this tour changes anything.
