Agreed best batsmen on current form. Playing multiple clutch knocks recently under a lot of pressure in difficult batting conditions

And, he is clutch. I cannot realistically imagine any of our specialist batters playing a series deciding innings against the best bowling attack in the world like he did at the Gabba. They all would have played for a draw or choked near the finish line if they had somehow come close to the target.  For me, clutch matters more than stats, aggregate, ranking points and other assorted stuff.

The way he conveniently ditched Pant after injury in the Aus ODI series at home is unforgivable! Pant was just about getting started playing well and was cruelly left out. To add insult to injury, he was shunted out of tests too.

really poor effort from the tail,in this age the bowlers need to contribute with the bat too and our guys cant even play spin well.

Pant's dominance against spinners reminds me of Sidhu and Sehwag taking on the spinners. No.6 is ideal position for him as he can take apart the spinner(s). I would still trust a Pujara or Kohli a bit more against Broad/Anderson in swinging conditions in England. However, Pant has all the potential to be the best batsman in the team. Gill and he will be the mainstay of the test team for many years and I hope he will be the architect of many famous wins.

Tail is a big *ing issue, we'll continue losing in low scoring tests overseas if this rut continues! Can't have 3/4 number 11's in there

Gill needs to work on his mindset against spinners. He wasn’t able to dominate or block the balls.

Saying he is the best Indian bat is bit too much and premature .

He is the best WK batsmen of India without doubt and  probably will become the best  WK bat in history

If he becomes number 1 WK bat and also among top 4 bats in india over 7-8 years , he will become  a LEGEND.

Any side that wud be facing indian team from now on shud be spending most their time of planning on pant . Currently he is not showing any weak areas and extremely consistent that to under pressure add to that he is a game changer.

Ya but by the time he comes bowlers are tired. It’s an advantage on good wickets. But South Africa and English wickets might pose a challenge.

He is not better than Rahul as odi batsman. I don't think he merits a place in shorter formats.Rahul should be the keeper in shorter formats.

lower middle order batsman have disadvantages too - very little batting to follow, so one needs excellent game sense and technique.
