It was good, but he missed several tricks.

He should have said that Indian teams have been bowled out for cheap in very tough conditions in England have had questions asked of them about their technique and skills

- and the same questions England team should ask of themselves.

He should have said that on the recently concluded Aussie tour - India did not complain about the pitch when we got bowled out for 36 with the Pink ball.

Half the side got battered physically, with several injuries because of the pitch but we never complained and went on to win the series.

This is how you build a counter narrative.

Good, sometimes need an attack dog approach to fend off overenthusiastic reporters in PCs. We have played the acchaa bacchas for too long and I am sick and tired of typical Indian apologetic stance. Can and will still discuss these matters (like pitch) internally but if firangis want to corner us regarding the same, if they want to give us gyaan about 'these conditions', unko pelo, bindaas hokar.

lets stop  shamelessly defend a sub standard pitch. Answering question with a question nonsense is what we should leave for our politicians. Whats a good pitch ? one where we have sort of even  contest, where a game between two equal teams can last 5 days. Someone should have asked ashwin whats his view on shrinking test cricket to 4 days or in case we plan to keep dishing out such crap surfaces then a 3 day test.

I see this a lot lol there is no reason not to ask questions in order to understand a point of view to address the said point of view in a response. Its OK to ask a question in response but not to reject the original question out right as absurd rightaway, if it is absurd it can be called as such later.

This guy pulls no punches.  His brutal honesty, and non-PC answers are exactly why he will never get to be the captain.  He is like an enforcer.  A legendary one.

He is f*ing champion , hopefully he has a long commentary stint after he retires.

The ICC Rulebooks which every one is crying about was written by some white English men sitting on their mahogany wood chair and table ( swindled from forests of india) and drinking darjeeling tea ( taken from tea gardens in india). So dont be apologetic when Ashwin says who made the rulebook and who decides its a good pitch or bad pitch.. absolute legendary..

The day we saw a test match get over in 5 sessions, down under in a t20 game we saw more runs scored. Eng are 50 over champs, India is a decent limited over side, what could be the difference between a 40 over game and upto 450 over game ? (yes will answer question with a question considering you are for it :winky:

india is not a decent odi side. england are yet to win an odi series in india in recent years even at their best. India are a very good odi side led by a mediocre odi captain.

India is on par with australia in odi despite odi being our weakest format. So number 2 is very reasonable for full strength india which england never faced. I wouldnt write india off.

Why would he not defend such pitches? And when his unidimensional supporters judge him based on how he does mostly on such pitches?

It ended soon because of ineptitude of batsmen from eng in both inning and Indians in first inning. They needed to play the odd ball not play the turn in every ball. It was simple adjustment that Rohit made in second inning. And kohli Rohit did show in first inning as well. Root got a genuinely great ball. India and England as a whole are not that good against spin, I would say India is on par or even poorer at times against spin. Barring old pujara.

Again several questions. define Even contest define equal teams. One team wins one team looses unless there is a draw do you mean draws mean good pitches ? So good is when there is a draw ? . Equal teams by what measure how are two teams equal ?

Please provide elaborate definitions.
