Personally would like Kishan to open. Left right combo & gives the acceleration in PP. today we had a good batting wicket, not sure kohli & Rohit could give starts like this in a pitch which  isn’t a flat track. 
 

But if kishan isn’t there, KL out of form, this was a good decision.

Wont mind this at all. Rohit can play more freely and Iyer @ 5 doesnt look too bad.

He will be badly exposed if hitman falls cheaply and 1-2 more wickets fall early. Him playing safe and others having to make up for him won't always work well like it did today. With his momentum sucking batting leading the way, we will barely crack 100 strike rate at the completion of our innings, like in the first game.

After that rollicking effort in his very first match, Kishan deserves to be the opener! Selfish Kohli will just stink up the joint with his dated style of batting.

If dhawan scores big in IPL , i fear he might comeback. U never know with kohli.

 

If pandey has a great ipl he will be called.

if raina n rayudu scores they ll be asked to come out of retirement.

This is what he said after 3rd T20 & now basically he has proclaimed Rahul is back up opener.  I just hooe he sticks to this now & stay as opener till the world cup. No flip flops please, don't play around with team combination & create confusions. This basically opens a slot in middle order, the candidates are Iyer, Kishan or some other based on IPL performances.

Although there is no problem having him as opener,but if he has someone who doesn't take too much time ,that would be perfect,

Having Hitman at the other end who takes time,if both of them get out after consuming 15-20 deliveries ,that will derail Indian batting straightaway,if Kohli is saying such thing it means we will see him open for few matches atleast before he rolls back his decision ,he needs to bat Kishan no lower than number 3

 The only thing predictable about kohli is this. Whenever he says he ll back a player that player is about to get dropped for sure

This is a very good idea, Kohli and Rohit opening, Sky at 3, Iyer, Pandya, Pant, Sundar, Thakur, Bhuvi, Bumrah, and a Leggie.  Gives Balance, also gives you 6 bowling options.

A bit surprised with that because he was backing KL one match ago only. When you say that you will open alongside Rohit, imagine how much the confidence of KL himself would have hurt after hearing this?

Ok so there are two problems with this thing..  Rohit is not a consistent player in T20Is according to stats..  He fires usually once in a T20 series & completely smashes the opposition. 

Kohli is a slow starter.  This can go either way imo.  But if this means Surya at no 3 is locked..  I am in. 

This squad shaping up is still much better than WT20 2016 & WC 19
