Vk1 Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Its only Sid Monga in cricinfo who puts out these stats and calls out our stat padders.. this guy's articles reminds me of some top posters of ICF Vijy, Turning_track, Mosher and 1 other 4
Bigg Brother Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 (edited) I doubt even Pant wont be same Pant after few years, Players in Indian team tend to play with intent and to prove a point initially , after getting certainty over their place, most have become stat boosters. ShoonyaSifar Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Good on Monga to say this openly. But the point about Kohli batting more aggressively in last couple of years than what he did earlier was laughable. Also, can we replace the word 'conservative' in thd title with 'selfish' sorak, Norman, raki05 and 3 others 6

Some of their writers do but in general they have people willing to speak openly against the seniors. We need more such players who are able to win matches for the team, ignoring personal 100s. Instead they will turn Pant into a deadbat just like KL raki05 and RAZPOR 2
RajBan Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Top article by Monga. He did not shy away from taking names - "Even if Rohit starts slow and goes into an aggressive mode later once he settle down, he won't be able to better the SR of Pant-Pandya partnership" Few decisions to make - Dhawan is redundant in this team, play somebody like Shaw whose approach is similar to Roy Rohit and Kohli needs to decide who will be anchor , even then the anchor needs to atleast have 100 SR while the other needs to be aggressor KL needs to be told that he needs to play like KL in T20 and not be another Babar Azam . If KL does not do that, drop him, and get SKY in the the middle order. We need better spinners in the MO, if Hardik does not bowl , then playing a half spinner like Krunal won't help as his bowling will undo any runs he scores . Maybe Sundar is a better choice in that case till Jadeja returns. Kuldeep needs to be dropped from all formats, he looks mentally out of the game and gully cricketers have more attitude than him with 1/20th of his talent. Talent is useless if mindset is weak. raki05, Vk1, Mosher and 1 other 2 2
adi B Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Waiting for kohli to have a go at him or some kind of mic drop jibe when he scores another of his useless 50s Turning_track, vijaydude, Mosher and 2 others 5

Also, can we replace the word 'conservative' in thd title with 'selfish' I agree with you on the selfish batting approach in the last two matches. But i am quite sure this won't happen in the next match. I think now our top 3 know that the players playing below them are equally good. So they will change their mentality. Secondly earlier when we used to have Rayudu, Jadhav, Dhoni in the middle order it definitely wasn't a good idea for the top 3 to go all bonkers coz there was no trust in the middle order. In this odi series middle order have shown their capability and now I expect the top 3 to change their approach if they still stick to their ancient methodology then they will be at fault for losing this series.
Adamant Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Also Gill is not the solution to Dhawan problem, please do realise that Gill As of now doesn't even have the power hitting ability of a Dhawan let alone Pant, Pandya.
Straight Drive Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Rahul scored at strike rate of 94. Didn't help the cause at all. The strike rate has to be much higher in this era especially when batting on a batsmans dream wicket.

The first 6 overs is usually enough to take the shine off the ball and for the ball to stop swinging. Wasting any more overs means you are taking the shine off your performance. RAZPOR Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 finally someone calls it out. But who cares kohli and tm owns the team atm. express bowling 1
chewy Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Not asking for gung ho opening 10 overs, but how can set batsmen just prod along with singles and odd boundary vs 20 overs of Adil Rashid and Moen Ali. The top 4 milked them for stats padding only. England have been smart all series regards to Pandya and Pant, both have hardly faced any spin bowling all series in T20s and ODIs. Around 30-35 over mark likes of Pandya and Pant need to be in the game. raki05 1

But what will happen when these newcomers fail for a brief period as not every time they will launch assault on opposition? Will they say ,look this is why we play cautiously to lay foundation for these guys to have a go? Bilaterals are meant to experiment with your tactics,a bigger picture should alwys be prioritized over short term goals, would have been good if top 3 atleast rotate themselves over a series, won't hurt them anyway they have reached pinnacle of all the fame and acclaim they could have got raki05 1

But i dont see that happening, our Youngsters are too good to fail too often. Believe me, you are gonna see a change in their approach in the next match itself.
