Look at how England treats Anderson. The disrespect Ishant gets is painful

Does he get benefit because he is down there on your signature. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. with that logic, you can use them for alarm. He has shined here and there but he wasn't an impact player apart from a test here and there. If I was generous, probably a series. You ignore all the pedestrian bowling over 100 tests and still gets picked over Siraj, Shami, Thakur, Ashwin in recent times. How is it that he misses a test and comes back for another and takes the new ball straight away. Should be one down behind Bumrah and Shami, no? Be honest. He gets by his friendship with the captain. Like a gobarmint worker, he will also collect pension once he retires.

Edit: wait what? you are comparing with Andy. He is more like our Caddick. Can beat teams like SL, Zim but will be exposed against quality test sides. How did you make that comparison. is it because both have played more than 100 tests. come on man this is getting ridiculous :facepalm:

At 39 Anderson bowls 85 mph with top speed of 88 mph. At 32, Ishant bowls 80 mph with top speed of 83 mph

He is not fully fit and done. Can't chase the ball properly after bowling an over. Should be his last test.

it is interesting to note the two posters supporting Ishant are called 'maniac' and 'sarcastic'

Mein bhi mein bhi, work horse than a fair weather friend like BUmrah or Shami. Siraj is new and expensive

If someone told me a bowler will get Butler,Ali and Curran cheaply without them doing much damage, I would call that a great performance. Not sure why Ishant is the culprit here.

thats a diff thing but comparing him to anderson is wrong

Ishant yet again owns his haters ,stellar spell in the final session , a true definition of workhorse .

Always chips in when the others fail !

You mean he fails himself and then chips in later? I don't know if you watched his first spell - Holding also said it was a mistake to give the new ball to Ishant. Can't move it away from the right-handers from an off-stump line. That is the seamer you need in England. I can bet that Butler is not getting out to a horrendous shot like that again. Ishant will be useless against right-handers if he continues to play. No pace, wrist breaks off, no outswing... Seems like carrying an injury and a liability in the field. He is nowhere close to the Ishant of 2018 tour.

Look at how people treat amitabh bachan. The disrespect KRK gets is shameful

For you, Ishant is like KRK? Seriously?

He has lost the zing now and is at the end of his career but this KRK comparison is absurd.

Don't get emotional maniac garu, yesterday was a frustrating day, golden chance to seal the deal but we couldn't. Most posts here were emotional, happens since that is a forum thing. I am sure most here don't hate Pujara, Rahane as well, just that passion/expectation sometimes brings out our not so good side to the forefront, and we vent out at players who we believe could have done better. On reflection I am sure posts will be more respectful towards all our players, not Kohli of course but that is more because of non-cricket reasons.

Bump

@goose @Lord :winky:

Overcast conditions, pitch freshened up by light rain, last day pitch, unwinnable target, sh!t batters - should I go on? We need bowlers who can take wickets on flat tracks in the first innings - Ishant is past that as far as I'm concerned, give me Thakur saab any day over him!
