Indian batsman vs anderson

Always felt Dhoni the test player wasn't bad.  Had the potential to be Asian Gilchrist..  Somehow he toned down his aggressive stroke making in early 2010s for some reason.

He had a powerful square cut backfoot Punch & a severe pull as well.  World cup 2011 win saw the beginning of the end of Dhoni the batsman.

Dhoni was tailendersque in Australia.

Dhoni smashed Anderson with old ball.

You need players like that in team who can take score runs when conditions are easy.

Instead India got Pandya who was useless even against old ball in 2018.

Most of those were useless runs in 2011 and 14.

May be because Tony is more a backfoot player against pace and "lunger" against spin?  As much  a good bowler Anderson he is, he relies on a hint of movement. That is all he needs.  If you play his channel length from the backfoot you can negotiate better.

Surprised to find that Kohli averages a decent 37 against Anderson. That's no where near bunny territory.

Tells you about how English commentators and media spin narratives to suit their agendas with impunity.

Why Sachin averages so low against almost every great bowler he faced.?

That's incorrect. You are nitpicking.

Sachin faced more 'great' bowlers than anyone in history, by far. From Hadlee to Boult, Marshal to Steyn. He has dominated several of them.

It's also natural he will have modest records against many of them, given the huge sample size.

And that too when Mr James Anderson hasn't got him out even once in India.

That is proper home buly stuff

Actually I would say Kohli wins this hands down.

He was owned by Anderson more than anyone. All these sachin faced bowled better bowlers is BS. Even steyn owned him at that time lol

Ok now I think it's time to show you some stats.

http://www.cricmetric.com/matchup.py?batsman=SR+Tendulkar&bowler=JM+Anderson&groupby=year&start_date=2002-01-01&end_date=2009-12-31&start_over=0&end_over=9999

From 1 jan 2001 to 31 dec 2009-

Sachin avgd  19.2 against James Anderson.

Actually Tendu avgd lesser at his peak against Anderson than he did in his last few years.
