What impact will MS Dhoni have in Indian T20 WC team?

What are we expecting from him?

 

Will his calm and composed demenour is what this team needs?

I like the decision as MSD can provide helpful tips ... However, we are congregating the same guys w/o too much freshness - Dhoni (mentor), Kohli, Rohit, Jadeja (playing WCs since 2009) & Ashwin (playing WCs since 2011).

Too many cooks spoil the broth. The win and loss should be on captain and team management. Never understood what a mentor does.

IMO this is also to clip kohlis wings a little, he is surrounded by yes men and has complete control. This will help control that

Having the best LOI captain of all time in your camp is a great thing to have. He knows how to use spinners well on slow tracks so chances of Kohli effing up will be less.

Not sure you require MS Dhoni as mentor when you have the most successful IPL captain in Team.  As they say 'Too many cooks spoil the broth'. This decision may cause more confusion.

Good Call by the selectors, with Rohit Sharma in the Team and Dhoni as a mentor, 2 captains with highest IPL victories to guide captain Lolli, anything short of a tournament victory will be a failure for Team India.

On a side note: I thought he was focusing on armed forces after retirement.

 

IPl is fine as he is under contract but why waste time on a pointless mentor role when his services are needed on the border with the whole Taliban issue, China problem etc or even internal security with potential covid waves

 

I will throw up if he shows up with balidaan badges sitting in the dugout.
