All talk of physical and mental health thrown out of window, boards just want to bully BCCI

I remember Australia used to be most hated team in the world coz of their dominance everywhere although due to cricketing reasons.

I think India is next in line which I think we should embrace now.   BCCI as the Anti hero would be cool to witness in coming years.

So much talk and concern about health of players of Western countries, when it came to Indian players, everyone is crying foul.

No questions raised when ECB cancelled SA series for same reason.

But when BCCI is involved, boards want to bully BCCI.

We saw how PCB tried to extort money by threatening like street thugs.

Wasn't England able to field 11 fit players in SA? Why no talk of forfeiting matches in that series?

Hypocrisy has no limit for other boards.

People are correct to blame Team India for the book launch. It was an unnecessary risk in the middle of the series.

What I find incredibly ironic however is that I haven't heard anyone from English side criticizing ECB Chief for attending this event. He may have been invited in personal capacity, but how can the guy attend an event which his own board hadn't allegedly approved or permitted? How did ECB not know that their own chief was going to attend? It's either gross negligence or he was granted permission.

All mental health debate is valid if they are not playing the IPL… how is playing IPL different from playing a postponed test to next week . … Bottom line is IPL dollars matters for everyone ….

all this garbage on prioritizing test cricket is BS.

questions to ask :

1. Would have india withdrawn if the score line was reversed in the series ?

2. If india didn’t want to play 5 tests why agree to it before the tour ?
3. if india were mentally fatigued why did this not surface out then end of the fourth or third test .

4. If india had tired players , why did the team not rotate the mentally fatigued players ?  India rotates players only when they are physically injured .. they themselves don’t consider mental fatigue as an injury . They had enough players on the bench

5. if india were mentally fatigued , just let players leave late to the ipl …. So what ???? If test cricket is more important then should prioritize it over ipl ..

That's why behavior all round reeks of hypocrisy.

They didn't refuse to play because of mental fatigue. You just don't have any idea what you are talking about. First statement released by ECB said India do not have team to field in this test so they have forfeited the test and yes they were right, India didn't have the team to field on September 10th and that is why Kohli asked to postpone the test for 2-3 days to be sure of their Covid situation. Most of the fast bowlers along with Pujara, Rohit, Jadeja were close contacts of the physio and had to be quarantined like close contacts of Ravi Shastri were quarantined.  Even other Indian players wouldn't have wanted to play with suspected and potential Covid positives. This was the problem. They didn't have the players to field a team.

Now Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Ishant, Umesh Yadav, Thakur, Pujara, Jadeja, Rohit all were close contacts of physio  Playing the test wasn't possible without them. They also didn't have any support staff. Playing a 5 day test is just not possible without any support staff.

All this mental health talks go out of the window when players fly out next day for IPL

The problem was not that mental health did not matter, the problem was that english think the players faked it to leave early for IPL.  They say that only coaches tested positive because it was faked and players could still play and win test 4

If the players had remained quarantined no questions would be asked and we could talk about mental health

Stokes etc who backed off for mental health have remained at home, not flied to play another t20 league next day

But the test getting cancelled had nothing to do with mental fatigue. Mental fatigue wasn't cited as the reason for cancellation.  They did not have the team to field.

They hypocrisy of ECB, English fans and also so called Indian fans is incredible. If any western country had left the tour because of health concerns, nobody would have bat an eyelid. Because its India, everyone is pouncing on them and assuming its because of IPL money. If IPL was so important and if they always wanted not to play 5th test, why would they even struggle to win 2 tests. They could have barely put in a performance and left for IPL. Do these so called Indian fans even deserve to be called fans ?

That's the drawback of being so powerful. Jealousy is pervasive in this world due to bcci's stature.
