So basically too many cooks that will spoil the broth. I am afraid too many powerhouses in the dressing room now:

Kohli - Captain

Shastri - Coach

Dhoni - Mentor

Rohit - Future captain

Its very tough for any captain to work under such environment.

Would Dhoni have liked if there were mentors like Dravid/Sachin breathing on his neck when we was captain?

Not sure whose idea was to appoint Dhoni as mentor but it may backfire bigtime in T20 world cup.

If we win Dhoni will be praised and people will sing pal do pal ka shaayar.

If we lose Kohli will be blamed..

Wah re :hysterical:

If BCCI was unhappy...they could have simply remove Kohli from captaincy post the world cup and appoint Rohit.

Now the team is in a bad state for T20 world cup with too many people want to show dadagiri when in reality it should only be captains team.

yes I'll be very surprised if we win WT20 now

How can a team be deemed highly successful when there is no trophy to show for it?

This isn't football when it is hard to win trophies given the number of competing teams. This is cricket which is a 3 team sport at best.

Exactly. In LOIs only cups matter. And then we lost chance to win first WTC cup top

We have an ATG indian team atm, it would be so sad if we waste it.

He is effing amazing. So full of himself. Hope BCCI grabs the opportunity :cheer: BCCI

On serious note, this just goes to show he has zero professionalism and his behaviour is same as padosi. No wonder he never won anything as for him its all about money(like padosees).

The fact that no other RCB player got selected for T20 WC team....shows Kohli dont have much clout in the team selections.

MD Dhoni's Indian team used to be filled with CSK players.

Only in test cricket Kohli has full freedom.

He was very powerful till 4-5 months ago. He overstepped  his limits and showed arrogant side too much in recent times . I think Eng series has a lot in these decisions . His demand for players outside of the pool selected by selectors must be one big reason . Second -fiasco of last test . Things must have changed very quickly in the last couple of months .

In football, trophies happen every year. In cricket, Kohli has only captained in 2 trophies in six year CT 2017 and WC 2019. Reached final in one of them. Don't give much importance to trophies. Focus should be on winning as many matches as possible.

Virat Kohli throws the gauntlet at BCCI: If you want, remove me as ODI captain

Edit: Looks like Kohli did not actually say that.

That looks to be an absolutely correct reading of the situation. Sriram Veera is an old hand with good connections in BCCI.

BCCI seems to have made up its mind about a fresh start post the T20 WC, new coaches and new captain but Kohli wants to put up a fight. Looks unlikely to work this time

Means, bilaterals and league stages of ICC cups?

That's it?such a low bar set for a side like India

India has been fairly consistent with Captains over the years,Dhoni, Ganguly and now Kohli

He too had his time, it isn't unfair

He is still continuing as odi skipper and dont see him going before wc23, that's fair enough

Appointment of Dhoni seems like master stroke from BCCI.  Even if India wins Wt20 Thala will steal all the credit.  Also looks like the Team selection is all Rohit & Dhoni.  Selectors have already said f*** off to Kohli.

We don't have ATG team. None of Test, ODIs or T20 teams are settled.

This is ATG compared to past indian teams hence an ATG indian team. Also this is a time when all other teams are weaker than their ATG teams so best time to dominate, wont get such a chance again

Groupism evident in Indian cricket

Group 1

Virat Kohli
Ravi Shastri
Bharat Arun
Yuzi Chahal
Shikhar Dhawan
Hardik Pandya
Ravi Jadeja

Group 2

Rohit Sharma
MSD
Ravi Ashwin
Rishabh Pant
Sourav Ganguly
Jay Shah
Jasprit Bumrah
Surya Kumar Yadav
Anil Kumble
Sunil Gavaskar
Gautam Gambhir

Group 1 was powerful till before WTC final, but now after losing the final, Group 2 has emerged as the more powerful group

But the greedy man still can't let go of ODI captaincy. Giving up T20 captaincy is just a slight concession on his part. Also, it's not like he is doing well in test cricket either. As a pure batsman he can't even earn a place in the side. The WTC final disaster is on him - his captaincy sucked and his batting was AWOL as usual.
