Van Der Dussen a non-choking South African

This guy has non-choker gene.  Seen some games where the pressure is high and he played well. Averaging 65 in the one dayers. Decent record in T20I as well. Not so terrible record in Tests.  Today with Bavuma at the other end it is very hard to get anywhere close to 180 plus total. He destroyed every single bowler and won the match on his own. Was he part of any IPL squad?

Yes he was

in 1st leg he was called in as replacement at every end when many players started pulling out but then IPL got cancelled. Dnt know why RR didnt continue with him in 2nd leg

Like RVD but would not give too much thought to a warm up game (we know how DK does in warm up games).

Big test for him is on 23rd v Aus. He has the potential to be a star of this tournament.

Good player but going by the reading, is that based on a warm up game and his batting average?

Let's wait to see him win a knockout for his team vs a major nation then the answer is probably yes.

At this point you dont have any chokers in SA team all thanks to Bavuma under whom its unlikely SA will ever be in matching position hence no possibility of choke.

It is odd that he didn't retire after scoring 50. Markram didn't get any practice because of this

Markram will play in Top 3 anyways.  At least Miller got a hit.

guy has a bit of du plessis about him, doesn't always look pretty and is probably a bit limited but extremely resilient and committed which is a good recipe for a clutch gene. He got the call up inspite of a lot of criticism because of his age and that there are more fancied young names in the country who were expected to be next cabs off the rank.
