Dravid is not as thick skinned as Shastri nor as aggressive as Kumble. 

Just because he is mild mannered doesn't mean he will take nonsense. He is a former Indian captain and one of the most respected players across the World, not just in India. As a captain, he had taken some tough decisions like declaring the innings when the great Sachin Tendulkar was close to a double hundred. So, I think he is more than capable of handling the current divas.

Tbh .. we need a personality like Dravid in administration .. we have lot more management issues within bcci and selection than the players themselves .. get the right players in the team with the right captain .. coach doesn’t matter

Kohli shouldnt be anywhere in the decision making setup.. Dhongi should never be with the indian team..

One good thing with Dravid is he may get along with the selection committee well... with Joshi , harvinder, mohanty , Kuruvilla.... .. He has played with these guys, so there must be some rapport or willingness to take the team forward... Now he just needs a good captain who can work with him, so atleast he can get the selection right... 

 

I cant imagine what Bewda and Kohli contributed to this process... such a waste of time..

For this move to work most efficiently, there should be new captains too ... and the new combos can build their legacies together.

 

And we need separate captains for red ball and white ball cricket ... to prevent a single person from wielding too much power.

 

We need to empower Indian cricket and not individuals like Dhoni and Kohli.

It is largely expected that Vikram Rathour will retain his batting coach job while Paras Mhambrey will be the new bowling coach. It should be a toss-up between Abhay Sharma and T Dilip for the fielding coach position unless the newly-appointed head coach, Dravid, has some other candidate in mind.

I would rather split the captains and keep one Coach. 

Need to do both. Tactics are different. First India it should be a rotating captain for every game with Analytics guiding, bowling fielding etc.

Wish him the best but don't think he will do well unless there is a complete revamp. And that means blood sacrifices of ageing seniors and those who have been living off past reputations. 

 

Tinkering around the edges is not going to cut it as the ODI/T20 teams are a wreck. New blood, new thinking and a fresh identity is needed. 

 

The news that nobodies with no credentials are being appointed as batting, fielding & bowling coaches is not a good sign.

And he ended up transforming Indian bowling.

Dravid in isolation cannot do much while selectors, media, fans, rest of coaching staff remain in thrall to our "superstars" and continue to grovel at their feet.
