Dravid can’t handle the divas in the team and we will hear about “respectable resignation” soon if he works with the “superstars” in the side. That’s why his success is with juniors. Dravid is not as thick skinned as Shastri nor as aggressive as Kumble. Just because he is mild mannered doesn't mean he will take nonsense. He is a former Indian captain and one of the most respected players across the World, not just in India. As a captain, he had taken some tough decisions like declaring the innings when the great Sachin Tendulkar was close to a double hundred. So, I think he is more than capable of handling the current divas. Kothili, sorak, Vijy and 4 others 5 2
raki05 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Don't get overexcited. Let him coach for some time especially in icc tourney than we can go ga ga about him. I hope we don't end up like oonchi dukaan fike pakwan. express bowling, maniac and Frustrated 3
figo6762 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Tbh .. we need a personality like Dravid in administration .. we have lot more management issues within bcci and selection than the players themselves .. get the right players in the team with the right captain .. coach doesn’t matter
Bigg Brother Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Surprised..Never thought he will take it up after Kumble fiasco. Anyway Good luck to RD for this challange. Just hope he doesn't get to face what Kumble had to. Theses leechad next gen don't know how to respect the legends of Indian cricket.
dilliboy Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 He will definitely give youngsters much more backing and confidence.. Exciting times ahead
Khota Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 He will be better than the leech but need to split coaching between red and white ball.

zubinpepsi Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Dravid needs to clean up the TM.. Kohli shouldnt be anywhere in the decision making setup.. Dhongi should never be with the indian team.. SandeepMotta 1
figo6762 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 One good thing with Dravid is he may get along with the selection committee well... with Joshi , harvinder, mohanty , Kuruvilla.... .. He has played with these guys, so there must be some rapport or willingness to take the team forward... Now he just needs a good captain who can work with him, so atleast he can get the selection right... I cant imagine what Bewda and Kohli contributed to this process... such a waste of time..
express bowling Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Very good move ! All the best Rahul ! For this move to work most efficiently, there should be new captains too ... and the new combos can build their legacies together. And we need separate captains for red ball and white ball cricket ... to prevent a single person from wielding too much power. We need to empower Indian cricket and not individuals like Dhoni and Kohli. Texan, Vijy, Under_Score and 4 others 4 3
Norman Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 I really don't think Kohli will be captain in any format by the year end. More and more signs of a "resigning" coming in the next few weeks/months. My bet is it happens after the Test series against South Africa.

The Realist Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 It is largely expected that Vikram Rathour will retain his batting coach job while Paras Mhambrey will be the new bowling coach. It should be a toss-up between Abhay Sharma and T Dilip for the fielding coach position unless the newly-appointed head coach, Dravid, has some other candidate in mind. Vijy and maniac 1 1

I would rather split the captains and keep one Coach. Need to do both. Tactics are different. First India it should be a rotating captain for every game with Analytics guiding, bowling fielding etc.
The Realist Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Wish him the best but don't think he will do well unless there is a complete revamp. And that means blood sacrifices of ageing seniors and those who have been living off past reputations. Tinkering around the edges is not going to cut it as the ODI/T20 teams are a wreck. New blood, new thinking and a fresh identity is needed. The news that nobodies with no credentials are being appointed as batting, fielding & bowling coaches is not a good sign.

Vijy Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Dravid in isolation cannot do much while selectors, media, fans, rest of coaching staff remain in thrall to our "superstars" and continue to grovel at their feet. Jay, Adi_91 and kepler37b 1 2
