That clown Ahmed Shehzad trying to convert Dilshan on the field is well chronicled. Says a lot about your radical society and why you are where you are as a country. I am not defending Shehzad and I am not going to pretend there are a lot of fools, but imo religion when utilised in the right way is beneficial. Unfortunately, it is not always used that way and it is used for more devious things. Rizwan is a smart guy who always displays his religion because he is genuinely grateful. Axl100mph and Finer 2

Why is it that only your folks display religion ? Religion is a private matter. The reality is what your players are displaying is a sad reflection of how badly your society has gotten radicalized. There are scores of Islamic countries who play very high level of football. None of them show such an outwardly display of their religion. And these are “original” Muslim countries - not converted Muslims like your folks with hindu names like cheema, bajwa, rana, chaudhary.. etc etc. You have used these for political propaganda and tried to be more Muslim than the Arab countries only to make a fool out of your own society. raki05, beetle, Frustrated and 3 others 3 2 1

That way you may be able to conquer the worlds and rule Indians for centurions like Muslims did. Or at the very least best Pakistan? Hypocricy is taught well in Madrassas. When Hindus "dominate" it is called genocide and hindutva and what not. When muslims do it is called "conquering" . This duplicity is a result of being cowardly coverts. raki05, beetle, Under_Score and 2 others 2 2 1

Many prominent athletes display their religion. Khabib Nurmagomedev, Mohamed Salah, Paul Pogba to name a few. I don't see it as a big deal. Religion is a personal matter, but as long as the intentions are pure, I don't see a problem with sajdahs etc. Finer and Axl100mph 1 1

By that same token, Pak players should be the most hardworking ones of all but that isnt always the case right? Things are not exactly transferable yet Hayden makes a sweeping statement. By the way, hi buddy. Long time no see. :) Greetings, brother. Indeed, a long time. Loved interacting with you on PP, and really rated your opinions. Good to see you again n I hope you are doing well. :) Ashwin is back in the t20 playing xi and CSK won, so I am sure your doing good Haha. Commiserations for the early ouster though. But you guys will bounce back soon. Dw Getting back to Hayden; what he really means is that the Pakistan players go out of their ways to make sure they are punctual with their obligatory prayers, which is a hard thing to do; especially when you have to adhere to work, training n all; which most of the times makes people put it in the backburner. As for whether the Pakistan players are hardworking or not. Bro, this present lot has tremendous work ethic. A glance at how hard the best players who set the standards in this side like Babar, Shaheen and Rizwan will tell you this n so will a quick glance at the improving fielding and fitness standards of the team. Shaheen, Rauf for example are express fast bowlers but fantastic fielders as well; so is Hasan. This was never the case before, was it? Only a couple of outliers now like Azam, Sharjeel; no wonder they have been ousted. Sarfaraz also had to trim down to come back as well as Imad. This is not the 90's side full of mavericks with big egos who would party all night, or the 2000's side with lazy comfort players who were overtly religious but not in its true spirit. It was more a show to win over inzy n co during those days. The present lot as most journos close to the team will tell you, in particular Rizwan, Babar and Shaheen are genuinely likable people who are extremely humble in all highs n lows, and draw a lot of strength from the Islamic concept of PREDESTINATION; where they hold the view that whatever happens, is meant to happen according to the Almighty's plan. This is why they execute plans better than their predecessors because all they are after is controlling the controllables. As Babar's profile as captain is increasing and as Rizwan is solidifying his stature of a leader, I am not surprised with how their beliefs n philosophies are now starting to rub off on the team. This was quite evident in the India game, where for the first time I saw a Pakistani team that was relaxed in a world cup game against India, with smiles and chirps at the start. Compare that to 2 years ago in Manchester where Fakhar Zaman threw at the wrong end when Rohit could have easily been run out. I think Kohli was actually surprised when he didnt find us panicking in the run chase. Lmao Babar n Rizwan's imprint on the team can be judged from the fact that he didnt allow Shadab, Imad and a few others to celebrate vociferously after the India win. I think this is the kind of humility that has impressed Hayden, along with the discipline and philosophy of the team.
