Ishan Kishan should be preferred over Pant in T-20s

I know most will come at me for saying this, but Pant is not a great no 4 batsmen in T20s . He cannot accelerate at the will and his strike rate of 113 at the IPL 2021 is enough evidence that he has regressed as the T20 batsman..He should play in 50 over and Tests , but Ishan kishan should be preferred over Rishabh Pant as he is better stroke maker...

Sending batsmen who you don't mind sacrificing upfront helps you formulate your strategy better. Srilanka sent two batsmen who never cared about losing their wickets in 1996. Rest is history.  In our current set up only Keeper can do that role without worrying about losing the place.  Rest are all one-dimensional.

Pant is the most talented player in India but I know where you are coming from, even though it appears that t20 cricket should be his forte he just has never shown his ability in international t20is. 

 

I think instead of replacing him with Kishan the TM should try to promote him as an opener in t20is coz you just don't get many cricketers like him. 

He has the big match temperament and can hit sixes once set, just allow him to open, those powerplay restrictions will definitely give his scoring a boost.

Pant's problem is focus and shot execution in T20. Looks like even though he has an aggressive mindset he still does not have the execution capability in T20. In Test however he gets more mins and it works very well for him. In T20 it just does not work as he has to do it from ball 1 given his position and given his lack of consistent execution. 

 

For me the bigger problem is Shreyas playing ahead of Kishan, that does not look right as Shreyas is not a T20 middle order batsman.

If everyone opens then who will play in middle order? Bring back Suresh Raina.

These guys want readymade players. Pant right now is one of the best middle order option. He needs more batting time in the middle.

Pant is hit or dot player. Strike rotation is issue. If it solved it will help his SR.

Too much chopping and changing would be counter productive.  For now, Shreyas Iyer is the real concern.  He should be dropped.  Pant played a crucial knock against Poyz when loli was too content with only singles.  If not for him, we would not hv crossed 140.

Pant over Iyer anyday.  Pant can bash spinners like Iyer & plays pace 100 times better than Iyer. 

Shreyas should stick to ODI cricket.

Pant is the only 360° player in this side, he's been prolific in IPL before captaincy days,and even in very early years of his international t20 days he used to go after bowling right from ball 1,but the uncertainty around him has made him learn a hard lesson ie the only way to survive in Indian cricket as batsmen is to consolidate and anchor innings result is we have amassed a whole regiment of consolidators, natural game is lost in between
