But unlike Gambhir, Kohli's antics harms his own team more than the opposition. Yesterday was a perfect example. They are both cut from the same cloth as most players from Delhi are. The only reason he is not like Kohli is because he never got to be captain. He had aspirations though and if he and Amarnath succeeded, Kohli will look like a baby in front of what Gambhir's capable of. They speak about mumbai chennai bangalore being regional but they are the biggest regional bullsheeters in India. And "jimmy" amarnath is a joke Kothili 1
Kothili Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 It takes one to call out one. BCCI must have had enough of Rat's roobish and given him the marching orders after Stumpsgate. What a chump! I am glad I dont have to put up with his monkey faces in the future. What a megalomaniac! Majestic, Real McCoy and Forever Indian 2 1

Gambhir's captaincy credentials were impeccable. Gambhir turned around KKR within a season of taking over in 2011 (after the WC). As Delhi Ranji captain, he backed talented youngsters over those with connections, took the club mafia in DDCA head on and again made Delhi Ranji team a top team. Never put self before the team. Stepped aside from DC captaincy after he failed with the bat, resigned from Delhi Ranji team captaincy asking for a younger captain to take over. We wouldn't have done too badly under him. Would he have been a role model? Not at all. Was short tempered and abusive especially vs Pakistani and Aussies. Edited January 16, 2022 by ShoonyaSifar raki05, GautiMaan, Vijy and 2 others 1 4

There's a lot of Delhi cricketers with the mindset I've mentioned and maybe I was guilty of using a broader brush to paint all of them that way. I overlooked his good qualities like resigning from captaincy in DC but since you mentioned his temper, that may not have helped with team mates. I still don't think he would have done any different regarding senior giants in srt, rd, and vvs as compared to dhoni. that's part of our cricketing culture and bigger than dhoni, kohli and gambhir

afan Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 This guy Gautam Gambhir seems to be a toxic character. He is one of those whom you would readily like to permanently block him on all your Message apps :)

mishra Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Kohli needs to be kicked out. He will be bad influence in dressing room. I think thats what Gambo said. I think he was first man to recognise how damaging Kohli can be to Indian team. Hence i agree with his assessment.
mancalledsting Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Gautam Gambhir is a small man; physically and metaphorically.
