His form hasn't been nearly as bad plus he is still the captain and we don't have a replacement. I'd rather he remain captain until Pant is ready than give it to the unfit Rohit or that moron Rahul

That's a wrong prognosis.

 

The rot begins at the top. Without cutting the head, rot cannot be stemmed. It will continue to stink irrespective of the cosmetic changes in the personnel.

 

At this stage it should be Anyone but Kohli as captain. If he ge goes to fix accountability, Pujara and Rahane's spot immediately becomes untenable.

We are playing all our Tests at the subcontinent only for the next 2 years.. Hence no need to change captain currently. But I would like them to groom Pant for future leadership

More the reason why a new captain should take over. Use the home leg to build a new team under a new captain.

I have stopped watching tests because of these two.

Could never get myself to watch Pujara's ugly tuk tuk earlier too...

disgusting performance after the first test. we did the same in 2006 but that was a better SA team than this. Of course, Purane must go but what have the others done. openers batted well for two innings, ashwin our spinner didn't even pick a wicket on more than one instance (even though the conditions may not have suited him, he can't be a passenger like purane), Pant was playing jekyll and hyde, bumrah was ineffective when the pressure of wickets was on him.

For a housecleaning, we should start with Purane first and put other seniors on notice that if they don't perform, they will be dropped. I can't believe that India with all the resources at its disposal played underwhelmingly against a poor SA team which is way worse than the one that was defeated by tiny SL two years ago with SL going through its own shakeups.
