The demand for allowing Indian players has grown immensely with IPL’s growing influence in foreign countries. As the Indian Premier League franchises clean-swept the CSA T20 League, acquiring all six teams, the BCCI is now ready to give the green signal. A final decision will be taken at its AGM (annual general meeting) in September "Few IPL teams with a presence in leagues abroad have requested BCCI to allow Indian players. I want the IPL to sustain its monopoly over Indian cricketers over the short and medium term. Star players bring value and eyeballs to any tournament

I'm inclined to think they had some assurance from BCCI that they would give NOC's for tis new league . How else can they make this league profitable? South Africa does not have a strong domestic market for cricket . The only way they can survive is with a good overseas broadcast deal with an Indian broadcaster and that is impossible unless Indian players are playing in it.

We are anyway not having "A" tours, so these young players who will be itching to play and perform will get a platform to pickup a tricks or two. Even batters like Rahul Tripathi, Prithvi Shaw, Krunal Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rahul Tewatia etc who are struggling for a place in national side will be able to contribute to different franchises. Bigger Question arises when allowing the contracted players, who're important for the national duty to these franchises. There BCCI, need to keep some conditions to avoid the burnout. Ultimately it also helps us identifying players who can play well across different conditions free of cost. I don't see any downside here. I only see the upside. Guys like Tewatia may never play for India. Why not this guy boost his chances of wearing national colors by performing well in other leagues. Right now these guys play only in familiar Indian conditions. So not sure which one we should take it seriously.- BacktoCricaddict 1
